I'm geussing about $70 a week per player, except for Aloisi and the Brazilians who really do roll in the dough (at $100 each per week). loyalgunner2007-08-01 21:16:49
Thats actually not that much.
It is if you're still young - which most of these guys are. (unless we're talking about Sydney)
good to see Celtic FC awarding legendary status to an ex-Wycombe
Wanderers manager!
Which one the speccy one or the ginger hobbit?

do they get paid fortnightly or monthly? how many days annual
leave?
Costa and Draper are on a can of Coke and a K-Bar a game.

Ha ha Accy Stan - you've got a week left to enjoy how the league table shows at the moment eg http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_div_3/default.stm
Once the season starts (and results replace the alphabet) you'll be heading one way and we'll be heading the other!

We all know that the salary of Dwight Yorke is
highly publicised, but does anyone know how much any of the Nix
players get? What about Ricki? I'm guessin the Brazilians are paid
a fair bit and Aloisi must be the highest paid player. Any
thoughts?
not really that interesting.....
I just hope win bonuses make up the biggest part of of their green
gauges!!
sorry shabba I don't have a clue, but do think its a interesting question
what is the Salary cap of a A-League club? as the A-league improves
will the salary cap increase in order to keep the talent or will it
just end up a feeder league for bigger competitions?
The salary cap is $1.8 million Australian (up from $1.6 million
last season) per club.

I think the salaries will vary roughly between $40k - $80k
AUD per year.
Thats actually not that much.
Some young players in the MLS in the US are only on $14k USD. The
average players in the MLS are only on about $40k USD. So
comparably to the US. Although US have more to spend on Marque
players.
The All Balcks only get about $250k NZD per year. They have
the whole nation behind them and are a marketing dream all around
the world. So they are getting more screwed.
I think the A-league has got it right. They will continue to
gradually increase the Salary cap without over doing it. Which
would lead to a lot more clubs going bust etc. If the support grows
and tv rights. Then the salary caps will as well.

Id have to say Rossys probaly in the 6 digit mark. Easy.
and conversely the under 20s will not be on much

YF GUESS THE SALARIES GAME:
OK, I've started a wee table we can work on for sh*ts and
giggles:
The younger guys I've started on 35,000 (i.e. just below a
starting wage for a teacher Grad). Lets assume all figures are
in $NZ. Feel free to argue over who should be on what, and
I'll starting changing the figures around. Remember we gotta stay
under 1.8 m (even though it's $AU, $NZ will do cos the exchange
rate is pretty close at the moment). I reckon the club is probably
looking to keep the Bill at around 1.5 m this season . . .

Fortnightly.
16 days AL just like the rest of us.
Game day is considered a work day and is compensated for
during the week.
Health insurance options are available, but most opt out as
health care is provided by the club in most cases.
No overtime is written into player contracts.
Goal and clean sheet bonuses range between 3% and 10% of
wage
Player of the day gets a Happy Meal Voucher from MacD's
Mums visit on Wednesday mornings, during which time players
are allowed to stand in front of the squad and tell their
"news".
Spoonley was asked about the money on Radio Sport, and he said it was enough to live off well and then some, so read into that what you will but it sounds like more than 25k

I knw for a fact from someone costa on more den dat($20,000).
Hes neva told ne of us when we asked him when he first got signed
caz he humble bout how much he earns but ye i think da least paid
player in phoenix is on 35-40 from a reliable source.
Cheers pavlova, I'll update the figures today!
half that team should be paying the nix to play. not worth a cent.
It says $1.8m on the official listing, but I believe all clubs have
an additional 20-25% to cover 'additional duties' (advertising,
promotions, coaching kids, etc.) carried out by the players.
Fairly standard in salary cap situations for different codes in Oz
and around the world.
You will be a very sorry bloke (blokette) next
weekend(11/8/07).

Some of your figuires appear way off target!! Richard Johnsons salary was apparently around $250,000 with the Knights and the reason he left Newcastle was due to money so i imagine that he will be on almost double what you have stated (not that i think he's worth that much). Daniel will be on more because he did have plenty of other offers including offers from Adeliede and Feyrenoord so i'd think hes on almost double that figure too. The other imports are hard to pick! Somehow i thing Paston and Moss (who was unattached and had no other offers) will be on less. I know for a fact costas not on $20,000 he's on $40,000 (why would someone sign on for 3 years at just $20,000!) Everyone else is pretty much on target i reckon.
