According to Tribal Football website (which im still not that familiar with or sure of) Brockie is ahead of schedule in his recovery/
Now to Jets....
One player who will not be at the club next season is out-of-contract New Zealand international midfielder Jeremy Brockie, who has been snatched away by the Newcastle Jets.
Oh jeepers, he's gone to be coached by Branco the lunatic.
Yeah... thought did cross my mind. 'God on him' wtf ?
Good. Hopefully means people will stop suggesting we trial him.
wouldn't want the jets to become the nz national team!
Don't think the pitch at Newcastle is the best for his injury problems tbh
Atleast he's signed with an A-league club, he put in some pretty decent performances for NQF and the amount of issues this kid has had after so much hype with no game time and injuries etc.. So hopefully he settles in well, good luck to the lad. Very very slim chance but fingers crossed he's fit in time for the world cup.
He was very good at Fury, if he can get plenty of game time and no injuries he could go a long way next season. Has he just signed a one year deal? Anyone know.
I didn't like the kid but gee he impressed me this season, especially when he ripped Melbourne apart. Good luck to him!

hes turning into a bit of a Caceres (ie club s**t): Knights, Sydney, North Queensland and now Newcastle!
this is a fair enough transfer though - he is at a club whose future is uncertain and he's lucky enough to have had a suitor in Newcastle.
I think that he will be given a fair run at Newcastle.
Lets face it, Knights was rubbish, Sydney's Terry Butcher used him as a squad player and he had little time (obviously they took him from Knight because he had potential), North Queensland's future is under the FFA and is uncertain.
At least he is at a competitive (mid table?) club that fits his needs as a player. At the fury, he showed what he can do if he is given more time on the field. I hope it will get him settled down and let him do his football much good.AllWhitebelievr2010-04-01 12:15:08

Sounds promising, although what manager doesn't talk up a new signing...
All the best to him!
Brockie will probably be with AWs for the world cup!:
Only 2 days before knowing if he ll make the WC:
finally he is making the 23 along with david mulligan:
I wouldn't be surprised to hear his name called come tomorrow, as long as he is completely fit, which appears to be the case.

Abris, that is a reporters opinion, not a final decision. Their (Brockie and Mulligan) chances do look good however from what people are saying about the NZ 'A' game against the NZFC XI.
The coach and his staff has to selecting their best side is not just the best players but the best side to make the step up and play to the game strategy of their group opponents at the Tournament. The balance between the defenders, midfielders and the forwards are considered when for strategy and coverage.
I would hazard a guess that Clapham will taken to free up creatively in the midfield and that people have commented about his speed being fairly decent to cope as well as being MoM for todays match.
The next spot seems to be either between Costa (for the quick change of speed up front and bearing in mind Ricki's comment about the next World Cup and the different attacking options - seems he linked with Clapham very well), Scott (who can build up confidence over the warm matches and has done little harm to his performance today as I understand- is he considered an good enough RB?) and Coombes (for coverage and willing to work hard but also for trying different things)
But there has been suggestion by people for Hogg, Draper and Myers.
Hard to say for me really as I haven't seen todays game.AllWhitebelievr2010-05-09 23:02:01

Blockie is in as well as Mulligan. Well instead of Costa, Scott or Coombes or Oughton, Ricki selected Christie. Maybe for more position coverage. No doubt there was plenty of debate all night.
Jeremy is very happy about his WC experience and just returned to the Jets
Started for Newcastle last night against a Northern NSW selection. By all accounts played well and impressed those who I have read comments from. Replaced at the half by Patafta who was - as always - all hype no actual talent.
Got a goal for them also, in a 3 - 1 win. Poss his first for the club
If he can reproduce the excellent form he showed in the months before he broke his leg last season he should hopefully get plenty of game time.
Scored a goal in a game to honorify Zeljko Kalac:
Jeremy is on this weeks Australian Fourfourtwo Insider podcast.
Here are the subjects of the discussion:
brockie declares himself fit for season opener:
the game was last night! he came on with 20 to play. wasnt involved a lot
Played pretty well last night. Got his first goal as well Stoked for him.
it was a funny strike, good first touch to come inside but then I'm not sure that the keeper did that well, did it get a deflection?
have em in my fantasy team so i enjoyed it
I thought he was impressive, though not spectacular. Worked well with Jesic and Abbas, who both had excellent games.
Well done to Jeremy! Hope he can earn a regular starting spot and keep scoring goals. Both Jeremy and Kosta could become great A-League players, great for NZ
