I don't reckon that Torres will get a lot of goals, and no-one will
vote for him in this poll other than one-eyed Liverpool
fans...
No actually I think you are right. First season in the EPL and with the competition for spots will probably get 10-15 this season which won't do it for the golden boot. But still good enough.
Pavlos, you were right to leave out RVP, 11 last season with Henry missing for a lot of it. He will proabaly be the arses leading scorer but that won't mean much this season.
It will probably be either Drogba or Rooney but I can't bring myself to vote for either of them.
A dark horse could be Tevez if he can carry on the form from the end of last season. Missing most of pre-season won't have helped tho'.

RvP was injured for half of last season (he played 21) and scored 11 goals. Now with Henry gone he will step-up.
Drogba will be away for a bit with African Cup, and Man U goals will be dispersed among their players.

Torres averaged 14-15 goals a season with Atletico Madrid, far from enough to win the golden boot in either La Liga or the Premiership. I agree with Malky that he may end up with 10-15 goals for the season.

Unfortunatly Vaughanys out for 4 months with a dislocated shoulder.
.
interesting Shevchenko at $20, worth a flutter?
He should be up to a lot more than last season, with Drogba injured and away with the African Cup.
Premiership Golden Boot 2007/2008
Was going to put Bent in but believe Lampard will score more and
too many strikers at Tottenham for one of them to get golden boot
is a bit too much to ask for. Also Bellamy i would have liked to
put there but not enough room and Liverpool need someone in there.
Ur thoughts????
Needs more Robin van Persie.

Ye thats what i thought but u neva know i think he has a good
chance.

The problem is you can only list 5 players on this poll, and for
all anybody knows, Andy Johnson could get the golden boot (yeah
right )
Actually, no. In my unbiased opinion I think he will be great
in the Premiership. He's got a good scoring record and I think he's
just what Liverpool have been missing over recent seasons.
I'd still like to know why Ashton didn't make the list though.
HE DA MAN!!!
I know its hard to believe but I've been wrong before.
James Vaughan. (Do NOT say WHO!)
James Vaughan (born 14 July 1988 in Birmingham, England) is an English footballer,
who currently plays for Everton F.C. He
plays as a striker and represents
England at Under-21 level. He is also the Premierships
youngest goalscorer.

Fernando Torres is the real deal he will be an awesome signing for
the Pool. I still cant believe he signed!!

11 goals and he didn't play since January, not bad i'd
say.
No point putting any Liverpool strikers in there, that
place is a strikers graveyard.
RvP was injured for half of last season (he played 21) and scored 11 goals. Now with Henry gone he will step-up.
Drogba will be away for a bit with African Cup, and Man U goals will be dispersed among their players.
Oh I see someone has already put the facts out
there.
Have to go with Dogba again.
Yeah that Dogba sure is potent...
I'm going to throw the cat amongst the pigeons here and say
Oba Martins will be up there
If Theo Walcott is given sufficient gametime he could get quite a
few goals aswell. That guy has pace.

I hope so for England's sake at Euro 08

Those of little faith...
Fat Frank Lumpolard to be leading goalscorer? Do fcuk off.
He keeps missing penalties at the moment as there is no one
for them to deflect off.
Fat and Frank? I was at Highbury when Lampard was in
his last season at West Ham and he was a bit portly.Crowd were
singing "roll out the lampards". Next season at Chelsea he
was positively svelte. What did Chelsea get him to do that
West Ham didn't?
he has always had a fat ass
agreed and
that's why i just voted for him.
Bad Poll.
Should have included alot of other names. Especially since the
season hasent started.
My vote goes to Drogs tho.
agree with uncle steve, how about tevez and van persie added to that list.van persie was top of everything before he got injured

This guy speaks truth - RVP all the way.
Tevez would have been my pick. Hopefully he wont take as long to
bag his first goal for United as he did for his first for WH. Think
this season may be a case of survival of the fitest. If
everyone on your list stays fit it should make for a great
battle.
Doubt it. Dnt even know how hell play or fit in yet may take a
while to start. As for Van Persie ye sure but Lampard is capable of
scoring heeps too and Torres well that was to make Liverpool fans
happy and also since they have a good team this year so will be
looking to get big scores. As for Arsenal theyl be lucky to get
some 1-0 2-1 wins. Usekess bastards. Watch Bellamy tho i tell ya
goals for him. And new premiership player of the season. Morten
Gamst Pederson or however u spell it. Fkn great player mate should
be signed to a bigger club!!!!!

Unfortunatly Vaughanys out for 4 months with a dislocated
shoulder. I'm picking AJ to be up there with the top scorers.
Probably not golden boot as we score a lot of goals from midfiled
with Arteta and Cahill normally getting 8-9 each.
To chuck my 2 cents in, there has been a long list of striker's
winding up at Liverpool, with negligible results. As much as
I love watching the guy, I don't see Torres making that much of an
impact.
That said, if Benitez fields him next to Crouch on a
consistent basis, it could be pretty powerful.
As for Tevez - as a Hammer, I have a soft spot for him, and if
he can save a team from relegation (lets not beat around the bush
here - him and Mark Noble did the job) imagine how good he will be
recieving form Giggs, Ronaldo, Scholes, Hargreaves et al...
FOUR???
Yikes!

Golden Boot odds have just gone up at the TAB:
Drogba: $5
Rooney: $10
van Persie: $12
Ronaldo: $12
Torres: $14
Owen: $16
Berbatov: $16
Tevez: $16
McCarthy: $16
Shevchenko: $20
Bent: $20
Drogba: $5
Rooney: $10
van Persie: $12
Ronaldo: $12
Torres: $14
Owen: $16
Berbatov: $16
Tevez: $16
McCarthy: $16
Shevchenko: $20
Bent: $20
So I guess we need a new thread with a more realistic top 5 (if
that is the limit for a poll).
interesting Shevchenko at $20, worth a flutter?
