Dear Roy,

You have to forget about Fulham. We are not of the Cottagers.

I wish you all the best in your future endevours as a world renown manager at other top clubs in Europe. I hear Romania is nice this time of year.

Regards
The Entire Empire of Liverpool FC.

Yeah, pretty cool. Think he got over 6000 followers in 60 min. Almost as quick as he scored them goals.

Just been reading a forum which says that when NESV tookover they placed a 28 days get rid of Roy clause in his contract, this was supposedly confirmed by Christian Purslow in a press conference. The take over was the 15th of October so that would take him to the 12th of November.

To avoid huge payout of his contract etc, he will need to be gone by Friday

Hell you could replace the manager a million times, but at the end of the day the only reason we score goals is because of Stevie and Nando.

The rest of the squad still needs to step up. It's great Lucas had a good game against Chelsea and im happy for him but he needs to start backing these performances up, this is just one example. All im trying to say is our squad is not good enough to be winning every game, just look at our bench today, so im willing to cut Roy some slack.

This is telling of Roy's tactics and it just baffles me:

Hodgson replaced Meireles with Shelvey.
Hodgson replaced Dirk Kuyt with Christian Poulsen.
Hodgson replaced Maxi Rodriguez with Nathan Eccleston.

Shelvey on for Meireles, ok I can do that. Shelvey's been playing well and apparently Raul was sick.

But. We desperately needed a goal for 3 points so he swaps Kuyt for Poulsen! and Eccleston for Maxi. What?!

He had Jova and Ngog on the bench. Both of them would have provided the energy and go forward to hunt the last goal. Poulsen couldn't find chickens in a chicken coupe and Eccleston's in uncharted waters for the first team.

Did I say I was baffled?

Okay, Raul was sick. Yip, I can accept that. Shelvey was pretty average, but I can accept that. Even if he proceeded to play him on the right.

Poulsen came on in an attempt to get Gerrard closer to Torres, I think. And Kuyt was exhausted. Again, I think Jova would be a better option to bring on, for either Meireles or Kuyt, given Poulsen's lack of ability to do... well, anything. And yeah, leaving Ngog on the bench is so stupid when we need a goal- especially given how well he has played when given a chance (changing the game against Bolton). He left Pacheco out of that bench so he could have Poulsen, Shelvey and Spearing or something? Gimme a break. Give Dani a run ffs.

But, his idiotic substitutions are just a small part of his tactics that annoy me. Its sitting so deep all the time that kills me. No pressing the ball, no ambition or desire to attack. No desire to even pass and move. Leaving Torres isolated the entire game and hoping he can do something magical every game? Fk off. What a joke.

I'm sorry, but come on. You think that other managers would have us playing so deep? Do you understand that a manger doesn't just pick the team, he also dictates many other things, such as the way that the team plays and is set up?

Bad results, I can take. Off days, I can take. But the consistant lack of desire to actually play football, the consistant lack of pressing, of supporting Torres, the lack of ambition, the lack of tactical... well, tactical fking anything, its all pathetic. Do you enjoy watching us sit back and have the piss taken out of us by Wigan? Were you thrilled to bits when we were taken to the cleaners by fking Blackpool?

But hey, good ol' Roy. We really needed an "arm-around-the-shoulder" English manager. With his revolutionary 4-4-2 tactics, we'll be back top in no time.
We have top internationals in our squad. Suddenly Skrtel can't head a ball, Johnson looks like a fish out of water when he steps on the pitch, Reina has no options to throw to for a quick break, Torres looks like a lesser Bobby Zamora (apart from the magic he's produced from nothing in the last couple of games). You think thats because of the players? No, they're good players. Not good enough to win the League, maybe. But Maxi is a good enough player to contribute to a team that could win at Wigan.

Cut him some slack? He left Babel, Aurelio, Pacheco all home. He got rid of Aquilani and Insua for the reason that we were "over-staffed" and now he has the cheek to complain about a thin squad?

Also, a big deal was made of Torres storming off at the end of the game. Who the fk could blame him?

Actually, fk it. i'm going to grace you with a reply you probably don't deserve.

I'm not sure if you realise, but when you press a team when they have the ball, there is a greater chhance you force them onto the back foot and then they can concede the ball. If done correctly/ in the right places, you can win the ball in a position where you can do something with it. Also, when you press higher up, you can get more support, thus making passing the ball easier, and passing it in a position to create panic and support for the striker. I don't know, you might remember a perfect example of us doing it against some small club called Real Madrid?

While the players must of course take some of the blame, I believe a lot of it is to do with the way we set up- the way Roy made us set up. What can Torres even do to score goals when he gets it hoofed up to him without a midfielder in sight?

Yes. yes, we'd defo be top of the league. Tit. That's not what I'm saying. but I'd rather we brought Alberto on when we were searching for a goal than Poulsen.

And yes, he could.

Roy Hodgson, seeking advice and guidance to help him and his club through difficult times, decides to visit a priest.
On entering the church he sees there is a queue so waits in line patiently.
Nervously approaching the front, Roy wonders what exactly he should ask for, drifting off in a daydream of titles and trophies, he is summoned by the priest. Inviting Roy over, the priest tells him "come forth my son".
To which the deluded Brit replies "I would settle for seventh father".

Roy: "I was disappointed with the lack of creativity for large periods but to do that we needed a bit more from our front players," he added.

"Most of the time the creativity comes on those occasions you get the ball down and play some football but for a lot of time it was in the air or being kicked out and then you have to deal with the re-start which ensues.

- Lack of creativity
- Front players need to work more
- Hoofing the ball

Is it me or is he blaming the players for doing exactly what he's set them up to do?
