music, but that's just me!
That's another $5 you owe me, Messiah

Typical Englishman... it's pronounced enough.
What is it with you, you invent a language with 26 letters and spend the next thousand years trying to use as few as possible.
Yeah thats my fave ,takes a whileto pick up the lyrics though and the tunes a bit complex!!!

I bet if the forum brought in a charge for
each letter per forum posting, it wouldn't take the Scottish
long to start writing in cockney
The music they should run out to is the sound of YF singing.
I agree totally and whole-heartedly. It follows that the only instrument I shall be ultilising during the next game will be my (humble) vocal chords!
Well said Phil
Hey, wasn't that what we were singing as the teams came out for the
second half ... or around about that time. And the without
the words in my case! I don't know them and didn't matter!
That clip is actually a pretty ropey version. I prefer this one by Japanese band the Ska Flames because the vocalist is dropping in "Phoenix City!" in all the right places:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctgmpi5CmmE
You can also listen to (or buy) the original Skatalites version from the excellent Soul Jazz records site (it's on the Studio One Rockers album):
http://www.souljazzrecords.co.uk/releases/?id=176
Or you can buy a couple of different versions on iTunes (search on "Phoenix City"). I recommend either the 8 minute live freak out version by The (current) Skatalites, the version by Symarip or the version by Judge Dread.
Does anyone know what that "Hurricanes Hurricanes" theme song is
called? or where i can get a copy of it? lol
you can just make it yourself: just go, 'Hurricanes, hurricanes. Hurricanes, hurricanes." repeat x306
good luck
when the nix run out we need some music ( was any played ?)
I think ring of fire - johnny cash wood be good..
What about when they score... some music ?
sounds like a brilliant idea
I like that we get to cheer them out, don't think Ring of Fire
would be the music for that moment needs something more
rousing.
Mind you, every chance the FFA won't allow it.

that is probabley the only appicable
time for that ...now that I think about it.

you'll have to keep a tab... I did state that it was courtesy
of Auckland Jag in my signature
Ah yes, but you didn't mention using it in your posts. That's
extra. My accountant will be in touch
Sorry guys but please no music.....
I stopped going to the one day cricket coz of that dipstick DJ
blarring out crap hits from the sixties every 30 seconds!!!!
FOOTBALL FANS CAN GENERATE THEIR OWN ATMOSPHERE!!!!!!!!
Leave it up to the Yellow Fever Zone to make some noise
I was talking about 'run-out' music, not the "Let's play 15 seconds
of crap every time there's a stoppage" type music much favoured by
rugby and cricket. Couldn't agree more, we'll be making more than
enough noise during the games, we don't need music.
You will never hear a thing in Europe after a goal because the
atmosphere, roar and chanting rising from the crowd. Yes for drums,
yes for chanting but sorry we are not in a cricket game and not
scoring 4s. Music before the game is ok but only the team related
songs should be played. There is a lot of work to be done to create
a passionate fan base however the Yellowfever is creating magic
after what happened in auckland with hopeless knights

I was pissed off when they played music during the pre season cup
matches. I want to hear us singing our lungs out! The TEAM wants to
hear us singing our lungs out! They play music at the cricket and
rugby because it's a sad attempt to rile up a usually complacent
and self consious crowd. We proved on Sunday we don't need it. Our
chanting was half the entertainment for the curious spectator, lets
not have the speakers drown us out. Though, I like the idea of
adopting "Ring of Fire" as our song
How many f**king times do we have to go through this?
PHOENIX CITY YOU MORONS! PHOENIX f**kING CITY BY THE f**kING
SKATALITES!!
It's perfect and can be yelled at the top of your lungs (even
the bits where there are no words).
Hard News - back me up here. I feel like I'm trying to
convince people that the world isn't flat!
We can go one better than the Skatalites Term.
Wellington's own Offbeats doing it. Just need to convince the club to use it !

I vote for Phoenix City. Get the whole place skanking!

Although there still is the possibility of Peggy Lee's "You give me
fever". Admittedly it is relevant in terms of subject matter,
but is undoubtedly too mellow for the occasion

That's because you wear yellow nickers not copper nickers
Just say no to music. Once it starts it might never stop
Does anyone know what that "Hurricanes Hurricanes" theme song is

I vote for no music at the game.
But get Don McGlashan as pre game entertainment at the
Backbencher.

there)"

Phoenix City is definately the preferred song now, and its
definately going to be picked up and sung a lot more easily/loudly
than Ring of Fire since not everyone knows the words to that.
When we were talking about 'Ring of Fire' it almost seemed more of
a rugby 'over the stereo-system' song, we want someting that we can
get 30000 people singing at the tops of their lungs.
Phoenix City all the way.
Gotta be "Phoenix City" as run out.
Played loud to drown out the stuffing
drums!
YF voices when a goal is scored, we don't need help like
the manchester red scum!
"Phoenix City" - its a perfect chanting tune for the run on, and
any other time the crowd goes wild! Its great enough to be the
signature chant.
Just because the rugby always play some hideous "whoop whoop" sh*t when their players run out doesn't mean the right tune at the right time can't work beautifully at the football.
Phoenix City will always be the right tune at the right time! And you'll only be able to hear the first few bars before the crowd will be singing right over the top of it anyway.
I look forward to hearing Phoenix City as the team run out on the
9th
(But no music at any other time, PLEASE)
