Meh.
Although there's not much else to talk about at the moment.

Just that little tournament happening in Honiara that nobody cares about.
Hey. The Fever care enough to send a reporter. Not sure anyone else can make the same claims.

What little tournament, where?

Staying at the Honiara Hilton but I don`t think the "Yellow Fever" card will work

And I've just got confirmation of media accreditation. win.
"Just that little tournament happening in Honiara that nobody cares about".
Well, I do. We better destroy these sinking Pacific Islands. In fact, if we concede a goal - I'll be pretty pissed off. We've got to move up to that "extra level".
Definitely some good stuff going on here, it gets better every week.
In fact it's getting so good I almost wish it was every 2 weeks. How can they possibly keep this up?
(though a discussion on playing styles in the A-League would be nice. Should the Nix stick to winning ugly, or should we try to play beautiful football ala the Roar? What do the panellists think?)
"Downloaded the latest poddy this morning to listen to on the way to work. Unfortunately I left my iphone's headphones at home, so had to share the audio greatness that is In The Zone with a trainload of irritated Japanese commuters. I suppose I may have enjoyed your poddy more than all other JR listeners combined that morning; however you can now claim your listenership increased by several hundred this week.
Nice work to all concerned! The poddy is getting better every week".
That is awesome Stevo

Don't you mean twice a week?

I loved Kostas little and (not so) subtle dig at Ricki and his lack of Phoenix game time!!
Keep these Poddys coming, having a regular Fever Poddy is the shizz!
Can we expect another poddy tonight?
Boom! v9.0 up and going.

We talk the All Whites displays and have a look at what awaits our team full of keepers in Honiara. Then we look at some minor tournament in the Ukraine and Poland (Smithy makes LOTS of new friends) in our new internationsal section.
We then have quick nosey at the Central League and Cap Prem and preview this weekends Chatham Cup round.
...and we wrap it up with a chat with Noah Hickey, former All White, Football King, New Zealand Knight, Businessman, radio host and Phoenix board member (we were as surprised as you).
Love Noah, he's awesome. Andy Clay would make a good interviewee, he's a comedienne but also a womens football coach in Auckland.
these keep getting better. looking forward to v10
Netherlands to bow out in group...going off most your previous predictions 2B this one inspires me with plenty of confidence.
Good poddy again all round.
Yeah. Based on our form lock in an England vs Netherlands meet at some point.
And the Diamonds to upset Rangers on Monday...
So did Hardnews give 2nd best a banana?
Tawa vs Maycenvale is this weekend and Vale are without Raf de Gregorio who got sent off vs Wairarapa. Big game for both sides.

My predctions haven't been that far off.

Hard News always gives me what I want.

Is the game at Redwood? And what day? If it's not on Saturday I might walk down the hill and watch it.
Damn I'm working. The games at Redwood Park always seem to be on a Saturday.
Yeah only some teams play on sundays. Olympic do, Wests used to, Maycenvale do occasionally, but it's only if it's their home games. They have it rigged up with Central/Capital Football because for some reason it suits them better.
That makes sense. Maybe I should work on Sundays instead, I could be a reporter for ITZ.
Did 2B manage to get this uploaded in the end?
Not quite. It's on google docs atm, just waiting to for SMithy to publish it now. Which he is doing.
Perhaps the first podcast ever to originate from the Solomon Islands?
Certainly most expensive when it was costing me $1 per MB to upload and it failed 5 times. Twice when it was 90% the way through the 44Mb.
Better late than never! But here it is...
'In The Zone V10.0' is now live - covering all things Wellington Phoenix FC & All Whites - on iTunes bit.ly/YFZone & yellowfever.co.nz
In the latest pod, the panel reviews the All Whites' tight wins in the Oceania Football Confederation Nations Cup and other World Cup qualifiers around the world. Our roaming reporter in Honiara chats to Ricki Herbert, Jake Gleeson and Chris Killen. In Phoenix news, there's the re-signing of Sanchez and Smith, and some inside goss on further transfer speculation and Phoenix reserves. While locally, they cover the latest in Chatham Cup, and Central and Premier League in Wellington.
Re: The Nelson discussion. Nelson Suburbs just beat FC Nelson (the region's second best team) 9-1 in the Chatham Cup with Mike White scoring four goals and Gagame Feni scoring a brace in his final game for the club. FC Nelson's only goal came from a penalty within the first ten minutes. They barely had a single shot on goal. However, FC Nelson were without Henry Fa'arado.
The podders suggest Richmond Athletic is the second best team. Last year that could have been the case, but after winning the Nelson first division they decided they did not have the funds to challenge for Mainland Premier League promotion, pissing off all of the squad which joined that season just to push for MPL. Sam Mason-Smith went to Wellington, Jordan Yong (scored for the Phoenix youth) went back to the UK, the rest of the good players went to Nelson Suburbs and the rest, including the coaching staff, went to FC Nelson.
FC Nelson is a new club with strong foundations, its currently the largest junior club in Nelson, and has the financial backing. In three years time it could be near the level of Nelson Suburbs, but Suburbs have the best squad its had in probably ten years.
Short answer: Nelson Suburbs could walk into Central Premier League, but definitely not FC Nelson yet.
If Nelson get in the ASB Premiership then it could happen. The only thing holding them back is the relationship with Mainland Football.
Another hour wasted listening to the podcast. Good laughs though. I especially like the "hidden" bits after the final musical piece finishes.
