6. The way the FZ emptied out immediately after the final whistle because we had lost was DISGRACEFUL. We allowed the Jets a free walk off and only a few clapped the Nix off.
 

I agree, we stay and acknowledge the �Nix until they have gone through the tunnel. The game must have hurt them (it sure hurt me!), so support our team until the VERY end! I was however, doing my best to stop people leaving, but they weren�t having any of it. They have a lot to learn!

I think we have established that it's not starting chants that's the problem - it's getting everyone sing the same song without having clapclap Phoenix start up every five minutes because that's all they know FFS.

This was my first of the Phoenix games. I missed the first one but from my point of view it was a great atmosphere at aisle 20-24. I didnt know most of the chants but picked up on them straight away and got into the game.Now im folowing the Phoenix more than Chelsea FC and I can't wait for Fifa08!!!!

The whole point of being a  Phoenix is that it can never die. Occasionally it  goes down in flames (like 3-0) but it always comes back stronger (like 1-0, solid defense, good midfield, and yeah unfortunately a lack of confidence up front). Back the guys and give them stick when their first goal isn't quite as flash as the first one.

i got sick of the basic 'clap clap clap phoenix!' chant really quickly. i admit that its really good to get the whole stadium invovled and sounds awesome with the banging on the corrugated iron. but every 5 mins??
maybe some real YF boys should head up there and use the iron to start some real chants. may help with the timing too??

The easier ""the chant"", the more other people will join in. Is there anyone 'out there' who remembers the great chant when England won the 66 world cup. It is so easy, does not require any WORDS or tunes, apart from the Word PHOENIX. The clapping to 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2-3-4, 1-2 """"PHOENIX""" is much more effective, particularly when the whole stadium [as we did towards the last 20 minutes of the second half in our first home game], and will be of HUGE concern to our Ozzy cousins, given the whole stadium getting in behind. Let's face it, this is not Wembley with a song sheet, moreover we will reinvent the wheel for the rest of the A-league!
The Y/F crowd should start, every time we go on attack, from when the goalkeeper kciks the ball, this will give our attack, much more drive, and will give the whole team so much more confidence.

like the "same old aussies, always cheating" chant, maybe we should learn some brazilian chants, a few of my brazilian mates have great chants and it really could add a huge party atmosphere.

Given the number of one-pointers in the A-League this season, the comeback chant could be

"Draw in minute, we're gonna draw in a minute..."

Good on ya guys, I'm stuck up here in AKL watching on the teev and the noise level is brill..keep it up..

(now if we could only get sub-titles)

Aisle 30's got a drum. Sounds good when we all got the chants going together.

MUCH better on Saturday, there were some deserters but for the most part the YF zone stayed in position till the boys were off the pitch.  We got them to turn and acknowledge us after the end too with a particularly loud chant.  Good stuff guys, vast improvement on last week.

Certainly was - the Ref looked a worried at the concentrated hate put out as he walked off too - hopefully it made him review his performance!

Also no doubt the chanting is spreading - which is great.

Problem with extras coming down to FZ is that they get can't find a seat and miss the start of the game. Saw loads of them on saturday, arrived late and expected there season ticket seats to be empty, so then everyone had to move around. Very annoying for hose who arrived early
