As I said in the other thread, keep in mind that the ratings for
some players will be better when they are in their prefered
position.
The ratings a pretty bad Coveny 65????? Aloisi 64?????? By pretty
bad I mean compared to their skill level e.g Daniel is

They're not too bad considering the Phoenix hadn't played many
matches when these ratings were made. & remember the thing
about the positions.
Yeah but Aloisi or Coveny aren't better then Daniel or Smeltz also

Lochhead also is poorly underrated, Old overrated, Felipe and
Daniel underrated compared to the rest of the team, this is
shocking!!!!
Again, I think it's best that you wait till you get the game to see
what their actual ratings are. As you can see, this is a custom
formation with players all over the place. When you get the game
you will see their potential ratings. Like Old in the first picture
for example, it says 53/56 meaning that if he was playing CB &
not RB he would be 56. This will be the same for the other players
as well.
What do you think of the graphics in terms of olds and mosses face?
They're pretty good. It's a shame they're generic faces.
Yea Covs is the only real weird one for me. Aloisi was captain of
adelaide and in the photo hes playing CDM and thats his prefered
position so 64 is OK. One thing will the ratings be the same for
360/ps3?

They are normally about the same so not any major differences.

kind of weird that alot of the phoenix are beta than those all
whites mentioned.
i think coveny may be so highly rated in the phoenix because hes the top goal scorer 4 nz. i dont know if the creators of this game have even seen a phoenix game in there life.
ill be buying ahmad elrich when i get this game.
will you be able to sign any allwhites who are un-attached on the game? not sure if u can only buy the players hu are signed with a club team
also on fifa your players stats change depending on their age and form. younger players will increase by more stats each year, coveny maybe 65 but his stats will drop after a few seasons because of his age

Indeed, in fact the stats of the team look pretty similar to
championship/league one teams - which is not bad considering.
I think before these ratings were made - they may have watched one game perhaps... the nix would have to be pretty rushed to be in the game at all so I'm glad they're there.
The other thing you need to think about is stat growth, like Luis Garcia said - its likely that Coveny's stats are set to fall over the next few years whereas some of the younger players will be set to fast growth and therefore after a season or two will really start to shine. Dull that the UI looks the same as Fifa 07, but it works I guess.

costa babaroseus looks like he'll be good on the game. at such a
young age he'll have a long time before he reaches his peak
Danny Hay is also in the All Whites hes 52 depending where you put
him he can be better and apparently Vicelich is 63 depending where
you but him.

where are you getting all the squad stats from?
I think he's been getting them from the ea sports fifa 08 forums.
There's people who have the game who are willing to answer your
questions or post some stats & pics of your favourite team.
And to answer some previous questions in this thread, unfortunately you can't buy a player who is in an international team but not a club team on fifa 08. This is something I hope they fix in future.

the editing team for NZ & Australia concerning the ratings of
players on current gen & next gen.

No doubt you've seen the Wellington Phoenix ratings. I hope you believe me when I say I was as shocked as you probably were. I am fully aware of the discrepancies in the ratings (specifically, Coveny overrated and George underrated). All the A-League teams are pretty bad.
Basically the CG (PC, PS2, Wii) ratings will be very different to the NG (PS3 & 360) ratings. There are reasons for this, which I have quite unfortunately found out.
When we are creating the ratings for the players, there are dozens of attributes that are formulated the create the rating. These attributes can be quite detailed. The CG consoles cannot possibly put this much detail into their game, so they only select a few attributes which create the CG overall rating. Thus the NG & CG Ratings can be quite different.
Basically, EA now bases all their effort and time into the NG consoles. This includes the database research. We are taught to almost disregard the CG rating; and the CG database, as I have now found out, suffers enormously. A lot of fine-tuning, comparing and contrasting, goes into the database, however whenever we do this is it is only done for the NG ratings. Remember how you asked me for the Felipe, Daniel & Smeltz ratings, and they were different to what you now see? That's because we are told to only really worry about the NG so every rating we refer to is the NG Ratings. The main rating we attach to a player, the main rating we analyse, and the main rating we become accustomed to, is the NG Rating.
Although I have not seen the the PS3 and 360 database, I think you will find it to be much more fair and accurate because of this.
Although I want to tell every Australia & NZ fan this, it's not possible, and unfortunately most people will probably just say "That's just bad editing".

How can they call the PC 'current gen' - there's more power and
memory available on PC than even the NG consoles.
But meh its no biggie. Ratings aren't everything,
especially in Fifa. In Fifa 07 I'm winning the premiership
with Nottingham Forest and still using 8/11 of the current Forest
team. They all have ratings like the nix in Fifa 08.
Because for some reason they don't use the 'next gen' engine for

Just found out the starting budget for the Phoenix in manager mode.
It's �670 000 which
isn't too bad when you look at last year's game.

I got it on ps3 and the stats sound different to what you guys are
saying...

They actually seem pretty good to me
Yeah the stats for ps3 are different to the stats on ps2 simply
because the ps3 has many more attributes for each player but ps2
doesn't have enough room to fit these attributes so the ps3 stats
will be more specific.
nz tops are just plain white.
smeltz is worth the most in the phoenix.
