on another thread there's a bit of a move to rark up a Manny chant v perth
partly cos he's a genius and part of the heart and soul of the club - and so a chant is long overdue
and partly because he needs to know how highly we rate him (with the liklihood that evil clubs will be sidling up to him with contracts)

We definitely need a chant for him. The Batman one would be easy to get started. I think the last one you posted is worth a go as well, everyone knows the tune for that so it would get going quickly. Not so sure about the 'f**king hell' bit though, maybe "Manny Muscat we love you!"??

Yeah that line is from the 'original' and should be amended for Manny. I like that one best though, cos it mentions the scoring feat. I like the winter wonderland least - while my suggestions are all existing chants in football, wonderland is over used.
I think our Manny chant has to be to the tune of "Ina Gadda Da Vida" by Iron Butterfly and yes it should go for all 17+ spectacular minutes!C-Diddy2012-01-23 08:10:59
I fear our inability to sing 'Stand up for the Phoenix' anything like the tune would make the subtle variation of Tom Hark a similar disaster!

Am liking the "Tom Hark" at present due to the fact there is little to remember. In fact, I'm a big fan of repreating the same simple words over and over again to pre-defined tune based on my inability to remember anything after a few beers.

I have said this previously: the following chant will work better:
Stand up, stand up, STAND UP
Stand up if you're two nil up*
[Repeat]
*Change to whatever the score is that the Phoenix are leading by.
It's easier to get everyone coordinated to. It's catchy. It's more imploring to the average casual fan to actually stand up (The repetition helps)

"Manny Muscat, he's scored a goal" is the way to go. It should make it easier to hold the tune and stop it becoming the dirge 'stand up' has turned into. And it mentions his goal. I think we should shoot for this from the off.

I was surfing you tube yesterday for yellow fever chants and came across the Danny Vucovich song, absolutely awesome. Surely it could be re-aranged for Manny.
If it's the one I'm thinking of it was being used for Pavlovic.
It doesn't fit Manny's name anyway, needs an extra syllable in his last name.
