You really don't think the EPL could get 13000 subscribers in a country of 4million people (of which there are over 1.5million households)?
No wonder sky didnt value it highly...
Bet you anything you like you'll be paying someone different to watch live EPL in 12 months time.

It doesn't seem to be that high a target to me. Even if they don't break even in the first couple of years (start ups never do), their subscriber base would only grow as confidence in the product and technology grows, and as people upgrade their gear.
With the EPL they've also set themselves up as a brand, in what is the future of the way we watch sport (as has already happened overseas) and they can perhaps even build on the EPL and add MLS etc to their options, and perhaps even other sports in time.
While I'm not saying theyll definitely succeed, I see no reason to be as certain as you are that this will crash and burn. Unless you know something I don't?
