Well I not to sure if there are many of us around, but as a
Sunderland fan I am very excited about us gaining promotion over
the weekend. I have high expectations with Roy Keane at the
helm for next season.

Good god, I despise Roy Keane. The foul mouthed, dirty, cheating,
arrogant git. How I wanted him to fail. How I soooo wanted him to
fail. I was convinced he'd blow his fuse and storm out of the job
by January.

I think the rot left over from the Peter Reid days has finally been cleared out. Disco Pants has been a revelation in the boardroom with the club not Murrays profits at the top of the aggender.
Keane: Always loathed him as a player but appriciate his motivation and commitment helped Man U to win a treble, if a bit of that rubs off on Sunderland then bring it on.
Inspired signing of Carlos Edwards, not so convinced about Dwight Yorke. It'll be interesting to see what the closed season brings to the Stadium of Light :)

Make the most of Roy Keane. He's done a Dowie-at-Palace-esque job
(without quite the same face-ache, of course) of dragging
Sunderland from relegation fodder to the Prem and I'm sure he'll be
off to United as soon as Ferguson calls time.
Gratz on making back up to the top league, hopefully they aren't

With Sunderland and Birmingham going up at least teams with a
pedigree and a strong fan base are promoted. This gives them some
chance of survival for more than one or two years. The
playoffs in the Chapmponship will be closely contested and probably
now wide open with Derby's form tailing off a bit. If
Charlton go down which promoted team will cash in at the fire
sale???

Well done the Cats. Welcome back to the EPL. Stadium of light
really does deserve to be a top flight venue.
I wonder who will win the playoffs? I hope its the
baggies...they've got great supporters.
Nobody can deny that Keane is a sh*t. But he's an incredibly succesful sh*t. He's obviously instils something into his players that make them want to perform for him. Fear probably.
Good luck to Sunderland. The Premiership needs characters like
Keane to keep people talking (imagine how boring it would be
without Mourinio/Ferguesson etc) and the big teams -with big
crowds- should be there.
If keane has a successful Premiership season he's an absolute
cert for the Man U job.
What I've noticed about Sunderland this season has been:
(1) how together the players appear to be when celebrating
goals
(2) how many late goals they seem to score
(3) how they appear to have got better as the season has
continued
All of these factors bode well for the future. Keane has
obviously set out to put out a team that reflects his own
character.
I've met Roy a couple of times and he's actually an extremely
bright and articulate chap away from the pitch. His success
as a manager doesn't shock me in the slightest.

things) lack of first class seats on away travel?

Just to confirm - yes - Roy stood over Alfe and jeered him (in
retaliation for Alfe doing a similar thing a couple of seasons
earlier)... And when Alfe retired it was due to an injury to
the other knee - nothing to do with Roy's horror tackle.
As for the McCarthy explosion - Roy had been complaining
for 3 or 4 years about the way the Irish FA, and McCarthy in
particular, handled things. There's an excellent summation of
the whole affair in Niall Quinn's autobiography. He was out
of line, but that doesn't alter the fact that he was right.

a good story.
The worst injury in all my years of following the game, so
let's not use it for points scoring, guys.
Roy Keane, f**king legend hes done wonders with Sunderland and I
