Update. A very nice apology from the local area assistant manager and my questions answered. Amazing that it takes an email to a minister to get what someone could have told me in 5 minutes and not made us wait 55 mins to find out.

Good news for you all though, it appears WINZ are not happy with customers having to wait that long either so things might speed up. Also, they agreed with my assessment that WINZ and CYFs seem to have a "If they don't ask, don't tell them anything" work ethos and that it is going to be addressed too. Nice to be able to say something positive, now let's hope it is not all talk from said departments and that action might be seen. Fingers crossed.

WINZ really seem to struggle in retaining people in one role, this coupled with them constantly changing systems and procedures makes it a quite fragmented organization.

Spending the last 4 hours trying to get my android to recognize the music files from the external SD card. Downloaded various media scanners to try and sort this. What fixed it was a factory reset if anyone ever goes through the same problem.

It's a cheap Huawei, (yes I'm a good supporter), as I go through phones quite quickly, it's not the easiest thing to get to grips with and makes Samsung feel like an abacus to use.

Although for the price it works out a hundred dollars cheaper than it's Samsung equivalent.

Sorry about that, I was typing it up on my tablet at a fast pace. touch screens, you either tap them too hard or not hard enough. Nothing wrong with the human doing the tapping though ;)

Ps: I've corrected my errors I think.

Dogs. And dog owners who say don't outlaw dog breeds as it's the owner's fault.

I wouldn't think that 7 year old would have been so badly injured if it was 4 poodles.

Oh wait, I've never heard of 4 poodles attacking a kid.

People who pay for stuff at supermarkets using 10c pieces and hold up the entire line as the checkout chick counts out $15 worth of 10c pieces!

Been there a few times when waiting for pay day to arrive. Not so much in recent years but not so long ago that I can't remember.

Anyhow things that piss me off.

Watched Walking dead, afterwards when it was dark and misty put on my running shoes, fired up Zombies, Run! app to add some atmosphere  https://www.zombiesrungame.com/ then ran up to the cemetery.

At approx 7km in realized I left off zombie chase mode and didn't have the GPS on so in 47minutes I'd run zero km on the app - grr

Then I swallowed a bastard fly/moth-thing and then my headlamp died out so I was floundering away the last couple of km home.

I don't think my lost kms will sync now I've put them in manually.

Things that Rule:
Zombies, Run app.

Anyone else use this? It's making serious inroads on the beer belly I've accumulated after Taupo Enduro.

HardNewsesque physique to me!

I'm hanging out from pay to pay having recently moved from a 2 bedroom rental into a 3 bedroom rental. Bond money is a killer. And yes, I used $10 in 50 cent peices to put petrol into the tank. Embarrassing, yes! But I can run my car to work and home.

Yeah it's just life and also, perhaps not so much these days, but as my mum who ran a shop for years used to say, Shop keepers love people with change. It used to be a pain in the arse as you'd have to go to the bank if you ran out. That was my job sometimes as a kid.

So even if I was living the life of Riley I'd clean out the coin box regularly and take it to the diary as I knew they'd appreciate it.

Tim Sherwood throwing his "Gilet" around. What's wrong with the name Body Warmer? Since when did Body Warmers become Gilets? And why did know one tell about this change in name? I've dodged a bullet on that one.

Why does my home country produce so many comedy managers? Keegan, Fat Sam, Phil Brown, Sammy Lee, Mclaren, Les Reed, Carlton Palmer, off the top of my head.

Why can't they just shut up and get on with it? Do they not realize that the press gleefully reports their stupidity?

Bob Paisley - That's how you conduct yourself as a manager.

I know Cruise Ships are excellent for Wellingtons economy and everything, but I swear if I could damn near stab someone while trying to walk from one end of Lambton Quay to another. Why do Sally-May and Jim-Bob from Arkansas who have teamed up with John-Boy Junior and Sue-Ellen from Oaklahoma need to stroll four wide down the middle of the pavement at the speed of a slow moving Glacier?

Great use of names there. I could just see you going "Right Waltons and Dallas, here we go. John-Boy check, Sue-Ellen, check" - made me laugh well done!

Love this from a poster on the Telegraph site re: Sherwood.

"northerntory

Sherwood was doing it for effect and for the cameras!

Everyone saw Mourinho run down the touchline and now they want to be Mourinho-Lite. Di Canio tried it with his stupid on the knees slide and Poyet tried it when he threw his coat on the floor too.

It simply is not a spontaneous reaction from a grown man...to take off his clothes and throw them on the floor in frustration. That is what a child does.

Grow up Sherwood you utter plank!"

The Woodstock Bourbon adds. Bad enough seeing them on telly, but now they are spamming Youtube. Cant watch anything without a 30 second uninterruptable advert. Also how is this appropriate advertising for Children. Its not like TV where these adds have to run after a certain time, they are showing up before videos my kids watch.

And how does one explain to their kids the hidden humour in having a Woody?

In some ways these adverts are good, they make me more determined to never buy their product.
