Any news for the August match then?

Think it's pretty obvious there'll be no August friendly.

New Zealand should consider playing friendlies for November 14 and 2013.

14 November 2012 China (A)

6 February 2013 either Australia or Spain of any of the former FIFA World Champions  (H)

4 June Jordan (H) a week before they play Australia

7 June Trinidad and Tobago (H)

11 June Indonesia (H)

14 June Iraq (Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane) before they play Australia

18 June Thailand (A)

14 August Canada (A)

6 September South Korea (A)

10 September Japan (A)

11 October Play-off/Friendly

15 October Play-off/Friendly

15 November Play-off/Friendly

19 November Play-off/Friendly

No chance of us bringing any former World Cup winners to NZ. Or current for that matter.

Three for me, and two for them.

Definitely unlikely, but Spain are currently strangely in Peutro Rico so I wouldn't rule it out....

Much easier to get to Puerto Rico from Europe than here.

would love to see spain, england, brazil in NZ...but won't happen. Even Wales would be a team I wouldn't mind seeing.

It's not the FFA you have to convince to send the Socceroos over to NZ

http://sportbizinsider.com.au/opinion/the-rights-stuff-how-lowy-tinkler-deal-put-ffa-back-on-course-for-a-league-broadcast-bonanza/

Having done so, FFA insiders are confident that the new broadcast deal will deliver. Lyall Gorman said as much on SBS-TV on Monday night and FFA pledged to the clubs on Tuesday that they will receive at least $2.5 million each annually from the next deal, which FFA is hoping to bring forward by a year.

The confidence is because FFA has engaged the Singapore headquartered sports media, marketing and events company, World Sports Group, to sell the rights to the A-League in return for a sum believed to be in the vicinity of $35 million per annum. This is for the A-League only. Socceroos games are not included.

The rights to Socceroos games are already owned by World Sports Group and will continue to be until at least 2020 as set out in this announcement.

The fact that FFA has been able to package the Socceroos rights with the A-League to Fox Sports up until now is because World Sports Group allowed this to happen. Under the new arrangement, World Sports Group will retain the rights to Socceroos games as part of their long term AFC deal, but FFA will no longer be able to on-sell them.

Instead, they will receive around $1 million for each Socceroos game directly from the AFC – as do all member associations – which may well be a very good deal in light of the proposed anti-siphoning legislation that requires Socceroos qualifiers to be on free-to-air in a relatively small Australian television industry.

Although the TV rights have been presented as one of the impediments to more independence for the A-League and its owners – on the basis that the Socceroos rights accounted for around 70 percent of the total rights – the arrangement with World Sports Group for A-League rights shows this is not relevant.

If you can convince the World Sports Group that a game in NZ is worth $1 million, then start talking.

I think fair comments by Zachsta. I hope that New Zealand play the Aussies though.

I think if New Zealand play Wales gings that would be good. I don't think Wales has beaten New Zealand in ANY sport since 1953. It is mainly a rugger fixture.

I think New Zealand should play Wales on 14 November at Cardiff City Stadium becuase it might benift the Euro based players.

I would rather see us play Costa Rica, Canada, even USA. We dont get anywhere near as many friendlies as other nations so may as well make them count by playing those nations we'll likely face in the inter-con play off. (ok unlikely we'll be seeing qualification against USA but you catch my drift).

Aussie at home would be good though.

AJ13 I think New Zealand may get Aussie at home. It was a shock Australia lost to Jordan though. But I do think New Zealand should play in London like Australia against any side cos it will benefit the euro based players.

I think they make a Tri Nations Series between Australia, China and New Zealand. I think they should of made a Tri Nations Series between Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in the past. I know there won't be attendances like the rugby matches but it would benefit the younger players and national teams.

South Africa may be interested due to them being similar to us in quality, but I could see Australia not being interested and wanting better quality opposition

Interesting that its not on NZF website, im sure it had been confirmed. There was an article somewhere not long ago about how NZ and China would look to play each other more regularly and that this match was confirmed.
