I am not going to start something with the risk of pissing SB off but search through my posts if you want an answer. It has been covered MANY times before.

Summary: Paston > Moss. End of.

Mark Paston saved a penalty to put us through to the world cup. He is therefore the greatest goalie NZ has had since Richard Wilson.

and he didn't play one single game in '82 although he shuld've

Yeah, there's a reason Wilson didn't turn up to the RoF tonight. If you read Sam Malcolmson's book, he's still bitter, and he'll be bitter till the day he dies.

It will be interesting to see AFC reaction in the coming months... Expect Australia to get told it is their fault Bahrain didn't make it. Slightly worried for the Phoenix's future now.

I would say Fifa will see how much the Phoenix has helped football in New Zealand and will be making sure we don't lose our team!

Maybe now with  Oceania having teams qualifiering for consecutive World Cups(2006+2010), They just might have the right to get a full qualifiering spot come 2014. Royz2009-11-14 23:57:47

A huge Thank You to the man who had the ticket for Aisle 20 E50. You agreed to swap seats with my friend so she could sit next to me. She and I shared the greatest sporting experience we will probably ever had. May you father many beautiful children who all buy you great Fathers Day presents for the rest of your life

Just realised: this is the first ever WC with both us and the Aussies. Would have never happened if they hadn't switched confeds.

Expecting FIFA to know something is a BIG ask.

I must congradulate the fans who where just amazing, watching it up here in Auckland made me want to be there so bad. I have never seen an atmosphere as good as that in New Zealand. And I doubt we will for a long long time. I now wish that Nz football is taken seriously in new zEALND AND the all whites become on par popularity wise with the all blacks, I wouldnt rule it out. Paston and Fallon are abs legends as well as the whole team. Well Done boys. S.A here we come!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone notice that Black guy called Jaffa. His red kit must be a bit unfortunate.

i can't wait to see the spin off already taking place ,with all the kids that are now inspired
by our boyz, and the huge insurgance of new footballers that will be drawn to the game
as a result. it will only bolster our depth as a nation onward for another generation.....
all we need now is 4 the all blacks to bow out of 2011 in the quarters again, to cement our future
as the chosen code in nz...go the ALL WHITES!!!!

Radio Sport is going off, giving credit to Yellow Fever for making white noise.

still excited and it's nice not to feel nervous - it's been a wild day

superb for NZ football

truly magnificent Wellington and NZ-wide crowd imo

thanks to everyone there for making it magical

i might be biased but i do think a bit of that win is down to the influence of the Phoenix - both on the park and in the stands

It would still Austrlia's fault if they stayed in OFC, the Bahrains would lose to Australia if Australia was the Oceania Nations Champion. Nah, better for the Australia to be in AFC.

Also with NZ getting though, another reason for AFC to add NZ to their confederation to strengthen AFC. Also, if they allow NZ to be in their final Asian final group stage rather than the playoffs, they actually might have a better crack at beating NZ a few times.

AFC is very hypocritical with their reasonings and don't see that there are benefits to them for NZ to be in AFC.

Paston is GOD!!! Ride the wave NZ.  Hopefully we can get some good WC warm-up games, 20 000 + crowds to AW home games and 15 000 + to Phoenix games!! It is so GOOD !!!THIS IS AWESOME !!!!

We actually need to perform well in the actual World Cup to show that we are capable of the upsets at a higher level. We are treated a bit different from the Australians.

I hope all those guys who whined about the 3-4-3 (inc. Rory Fallon's dad, whatsisname) are sick as parrots now. Leo was probably the second most impressive person on the field, he and Rory were owning the Bahrain defence left and right by the end of the game. And the tackling in the last twenty minutes at least was dynamite.

It worked all right on the nite and over the two legs against this team.....it had its moments and against a stronger team we would have been ripped to shreds.  We looked slow upfront tho as similar players got tanmgled or in the same place often.

Savour the win..the atomosphere across the whole stadium was electric..at times white noise was a sideshow..I could see them almost catch their breathes and then relaunch and get us all going again.  Shirts off at the end was great and other brave souls all around followed suit.

Was inmpressed that Ricki at the end tured and walked behind the dugout and applauded the fans..didnt make it out to the middle for a while....class act.

Proud to be kiwi....

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen
