Game is being played at the tiny Stade Yoshida which holds about a thousand people with scant seating.
Kone is a town of about 7000 people in the economically-backward Northern Province of New Caledonia (pop. about 40,000)
Team Wellington will play their games there in the OFC Champions League next year.
See the stadium in these highlights of the New Caledonian Cup semi played there last month:

Stade Yoshida is home to club JS Baco:

More like to stop the crowd throwing objects at the visitors.

Popped down to the stadium for the first 20 minutes of the All Whites training session before being moved on. Pitch is in quality condition. Temperature hasn't been too bad today but there has been a breeze and plenty of cloud cover. 5pm ko should help as well. Few pics below.

Full credit to New Caledonia cause that's one of the best ever pitches I've seen in the Pacific! Great maintenance from the groundskeepers and well done to their football association.

Certainly did not enter my mind-- just that have played there three times and that is exactly what happened.

If we slip up we can't blame the playing conditions, they look great.

Don't worry. We can still hang on to the humidity and Island refs.

I don't care how we win today, just win. Even if it's the most boring, non sexy football, all that matters is the W next to our country's name.

Could someone please set up a stream so those of us who are not in NZ can watch? I'd be happy to flick some money into an nz account to cover costs.

That was the Oceania Champions League match between Nadi & Kiwi ended 4-3

first 4 reds (2 each) were for violent conduct, last 2 (1 each) were for 2nd bookable offences , one for a trip and the other because the player booted the ball away. All cards were pretty much deserved

Won't he sit more central with Rojas and Thomas playing out wide?
