It would be great to see Brockie come off the bench with a point to prove, especially in the form he is in.

Id probably rather he comes off the bench and scores a goal, but that's just me

Even if they are only in the 30 it does seem weird that players so clearly on the outer could be brought back

Assuming Dura is the only injury I've picked my 23 on the left, and what I think Hudson will do on the right.

You're probably pretty close to the mark 2nd Best. I agree with your chosen team as well.

Ridenton's gotta be playing himself into the side.

Roux surely gets picked ahead of Ingham who can't make the bench currently. Brockies NZ record is dire... so does that mean he never gets picked again, which seems to be the case some are favouring??

A great notion if players never developed or has changes in form.

Brockie is not the same player he was when he made the majority of those performances, to judge him on that is misguided.

Look at Fornorali's playing history, prior to him joining the A League. His goal scoring record was pants and any club signing him surely were bonkers... unless of course stats only tell one story!

For argument's sake - could we not call up both Smeltz and Brockie.

Smeltzy is getting on and hasn't set the world on fire in a while, but he is a known quantity. If we are calling players up based on experience and previous performances (e.g. Fallon), then I'd take Smeltz.

Agree that Brockie is in red hot form, but he has never been a goalscorer for the NT and if he is to play up front, we need him to deliver the goods - and I am just not sure he would do that.

I think Fallon is only being called up for his mana.

^ And I don't have an issue with that per se - but my point is that Hudson could call more players if he wanted to. From the players' perspective, it's a massive carrot - if you go to camp and perform or if things change during the game and you have to come on, who knows what might happen.

At the end of the day, all of our efforts should be directed towards winning this play-off at all costs, if that means calling up Smeltz, Brockie and Fallon, even if maybe only one of them might get some game time - so be it.

Let's call it less than 30 sleeps until Anfony Hudson is gone for good.

Not the biggest Brockie fan, but he's playing and scoring regularly. I'd prefer him over Fallon. Best case scenario is we don't need either of them though!

Very solid choices there, that would be my exact team except for one main change, Boyd coming in for Smeltz. Apparently, Smeltz is playing like absolute ass in Indonesia and Boyd's making a name for himself among his club's fans - could do with more pace to counter Peru's too. Personally don't rate Colvey so in my ideal world I'd drop for Boxall no. 2.

Boyd's pace could certainly be a benefit.

I think getting Brockie in makes sense..putting his past AW behind.  He must be due for at least one goal by now and the home match might just be that..especially if Wood is dodgy.  He is next in form striker.

One's just reached the final of a major continental competition as the top scorer, one's just been released from an abysmal team in the English 5th tier (23rd right now). Experience or no experience, I know who I'll pick...

I think it's a translation issue. Note how for the second leg the same role is called "Advisor" instead?

I have this vision that he is there to get things under control and prevent umpires brawling on the pitch:  when the three referees cannot decide on a problem during the game and start arguing violently among themselves, in their own language (see how they are the same nationality each time, US and France), the moderator then tells them off in his own language (and gets away with heavy swearing as they cannot understand him as he is not of the same nationality).

This Friday at work is really dragging on.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
