Missed the first half. Second half looked good, especially with Kosta on.

Young China side will develop well over the next few years.

Nice shot by Mulligan!

Agreed.

Also, albeit a bit dodgy, Moss was good when it counted - saved our arses several times.

Impressed by Mcglinchey, Barbarouses and Boxall

Overall a decent result considering how many players we had out.

New boys looked good. Hopefully less Boyens more Boxall in future.

Well it was much better end to end stuff once Roja and Fritz got on, but really some of those shot should have been at the back of the net. Looks like both teams were a bit rusty.

Good result - Boxall and Mulligan played very well. It's a shame there's not another game to build on the way we ended that one.

Very impressed by Mulligan. How the hell did he not see game time in the middle of the park for the nix? Can score from anywhere and has a deadly free-kick. I would be tempted to play him over Elliott and Christie, so third choice CM.

Boxall looks outstanding. Very composed.

Fitzgerald was handy. Imposing fellow but very good with his feet and wanted to attack.

Kosta has to start. man of the match for me.

Before the game thought we had a good chance of taking a win but after the first half performance satisfied with a draw

Think China had better scoring opportunities but Moss came out well.

Teams rusty because they were new combinations with limited time together.

Gotta complain to Sky.while regular Sky sets get uninterrupted signal, the more expensive My SkyHD goes down all the time with overcast weather. Losing this game at crucial times ...(and the Cricket on the other HD channel) sucks big time considering the cost. Should be able to manually toggle out of HD to UHV signal on the remote...GRRRRR

Boyens is not a good footballer.
I don't like him one bit.

Other than that, take the draw given the somewhat weakened side we put out, nice one.

1. Agree, weakened side
2. Lots of travel and not much time to adjust.

I think the AWs could have taken a win on home soil.

Spare a thought for China "B" squad playing Kosta Rica tomorrow. 30 hours travel, only arrived yesterday.

Just the encumbents in midfield being Ricki's favourites didn't help. He did impress me too tonight.
Def. prefer over those two.
Agree with the rest.We have some new starters Ricki.Lock em in.

And NZF, find the AW's some more meaningful games  asap, ffs.
China has played 5 since the Asia Cup, and have(according to someone previously) 4 including this one in this window or hereabouts???
What the hell are we doing people??

due to living in aus and my internet having a pretty poor day I missed large parts of the game. By any chance is there a way I could find it to download or something?

Did sky show any stats for the game.

the CCTV5 link showed 50/50 possession mid way through the 2nd half and 7:13 shots China:NZ although there were a few more shots towards the end.

A bit harsh on the lad, but concentration at crucial moments and having the crappiest of luck. I think he is thinking too much and holding back when he should really trust his instincts. I have seen play much better. RB is not his thing. He is more comfortable in a 4-4-2 set up at RCB. With Boxel looking solid he could lose his place.

Mmmm? I thought I saw possession being 55% to the Chinese to 45% to the Kiwis. It was definitely not 50/50.

might have changed while I was switching between pages.

Marco on side line, stepped on the field and pffft...rain fade ..I saw nothing. It was cosmic karma rebound thingy I guess, after having bad thoughts re Rojas in recent weeks.

Boyens.

You probably right, we have basically got most positions covered if all players are fit and healthy, but as you know injuries and incidental events may see him slip back in.

Admittedly he alway seem to have really the most crappiest of things happen to him. It's a really strange. When he makes a mistake, it is always a goal and he always looks like a fish out of water, but during the rest of the game he does the right thing and don't lose the ball. I think that when an opposition does a special move on him, it doesn't register well because he finds himself in unfamiliar positioning and not sure what movement to take. What he needs to do is to realise that it is unfamiliar positioning so the only real action to take is to just instinctively go for the ball and stop over thinking.

Anyway, it might be too late now if Ricki has plans for the others. However Mully is able to survive being cast to the wildness, let see how long it would be for Boyens to survive. Reinvent himself as a DCM??
