Now that we have a full back, it will be interesting to see if we go with a 442 or stick with the 343

Midfield looks a bit shaky without Elliott or Brown.

No holding midfielders really.  Except perhaps Ivan.

Yep, I would expect Vicelich to play that role.

If Ivan starts as def mid does that mean Boyens in at the back? Please no.

Brockie Vicelich McGlinchey Rojas midfield im guessing. Not too bad. Brockie was class in the last friendlies, McGlincey and Rojas have been outstanding in the A-League and Vicelich has been playing most of these Chinese players throughout the season.

No Browny or Siggy because of Siggys wedding? I thought I read somewhere that Siggy was getting married around then.

Lochhead doesn't get an invite? Surely Siggy could have changed the date.

wedding isn't until they get back.  Bit of a difference between staying behind to organise last minutes things, and turning up on the day in Lochy's case.

Browny had minor surgery last week i think.

NZF said Siggy is injured.

E would have thought that playing football was more important than organising a wedding.

Anyway women are far better at it than men.

Our midfield is not good.

Why isn't Winston in the squad? If he was, wouldn't that mean that his one match ban had been satisfied? Or does being named in the larger squad still satisfy the ban?

red card last game vs Paraguay - can't play against China. No other game at this stage.

Yes, does it not matter that he has not been selected to play at all?

You would hope not. Surely his suspension would mean he would be ineligible to make the final squad for the game which he is suspended for, therefore not being in the final squad means he will have served his ban...?
I dunno, that's just a guess but it seems to make sense (in my head anyway)

That makes sense to me too, does anybody know the actual FIFA rule for serving suspensions?

Reid is suspended for the next match.

China is the next match.

Following this game, his ban is served and he becomes available again.

He's serving the suspension - you can't include a player in the squad who's suspended!!!

these programmes are on in the time frame that would need to be free at 12:30am

SS1 @ 11:40pm LIVE iiNET NBL (Gold coast v adelaide)
SS2 @ 9:10pm LIVE ICC cricket world cup 3rd quarter final
SS3 @ 11:30pm Delayed coverage of NRL titans v broncos

thinking if sky did get the rights then they would make the iinet NBL game delayed also.

As it is only a friendly, I reckon I have more chance of winning lotto tonight than Sky showing the China game live.

Every single All Blacks friendly match is shown live, its a shame that NZ is much more of a rugby nation than it is a football nation.
