We've got strikers to rival any other country! Smeltz's goal was world class, Wood and Fallon were dominant. We can even afford to let strikers go get married!

No. Just. No.

Because...?

...Elliotts just as much to blame for the non existent midfield.

hope mulli gets a run in the next game. If he doesnt get game time in these warm up games then he def wont be playing in any WC games.

Bet ya El Grap was sitting at home thinking "That's my boxheads!"

Think he slept in.  Was meant to be at Smithy's with us but never turned up.

I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer.

Quality. Hats off to the lads.

Thought Reid did well to pressure Zigic out of the game for the most part, even though his inexperience showed at times.

Do not like Leo in his defensive minded position. He needs the ball at his feet, taking on players, and slotting those balls in the box for Fallon to nudge in. He is a quaily asset and we're not using him to his full potenial.

Christie slotted in quite nicely i thought. Apart from a few wonky passes, he made almost every tackle and played well.

Fallon is quality. A rock up front.

Yeah had to agree. One wonky pass and a couple of jittery moments, balanced by some great touch in the midfield and swift distribution on attack, and some hard work including a quality off his feet effort on defence. Basically never saw him and he didn't get over run. May even have been an improvement on Brown.

We have got good technique across the team now, with the exceptions of Smeltz and perhaps Lochy. And after today think I'll forgive Smeltzy that...

I'm not sure about McG. A bit short, and really needs more ball at feet and attacking on the ground than we are doing. Not sure what we are doing suits his style of play. He's had an ordinary last couple of games.

Because you don't have one.

He didn't put a foot wrong all game. 1 wonky pass, and a 5 minute positional spell where we wandered. Apart from that, he was good.

What are your opinions based on?

Why am I arguing with an Australian and other knockers on facebook? I think people so quick to knock the All Whites are just insecure about their own team's chances. That includes some of the Aussie trolls we've had on here in recent days. Sure we are not world beaters, but we punch above our belts and after this morning's performance, against a quality Serb team (who, yes, underperformed), we should be optimistic of our chances of getting a win against someone in South Africa.

The fact that he was nowhere to be seen the entire game. He ran into other peoples space a lot and provided absolutely no help to bertos out on the right. The reason most of our plays were going through Lochhead on the left hand side was because he was being fed from Elliott. Christie just ran about for 90 minutes, made a couple of tackles and did f**k all else. And when he did get the ball, he gave it away cheaply.

Farken brilliant.  Just came home from Kitty's, was going off after that.

Where did NZ get this confidence from? And can they keep it,  maybe have some more?  Because it really suits them

I was about to rant about how sh*t that is and how I almost considered getting up at 6am for the replay and would have missed it, bla bla bla, but it's now on at 6.45am on Sky Sports 2. For the moment...

Spain beat Saudi, only just, 3-2 with a Llorente goal on 90 minutes. So almost two upsets this morning.

If' you're on Twitter, let SKYNZ know what you think. In fact, do it anytime they muck Football around.

As for me, my cell phone alarm failed to wake me up but my mates phone call managed to wake me "Did you see that?" Well no unfortunately, someone tell me why I'm waking up now.

The sky guide on the website said there was a replay on then I find the dam tennis. I specifically checked on my laptop before getting out of bed dammit!

Who will we see get a run? Brockie has been improving, though he should have got his chance on target, and has been building a case as some pace and a dribbler in the box. Still is too crap on defence, but starting to live up to his Olympics campaign and the hype. Need to see assists and goals though.

Will we see any of the following: Barron, Mulligan, Clapham and WeeMac? Does today mean that Mulligan has lost out to Christie, and that Elliot can now be considered a 90 minute man?

Has Boyens completely done his chips?

Any predictions?

and Billy Harris on Brown:

In the annoying parlance of the modern sportsman, if we "look for the positives going forward", it is that while Brown displays an admirable work rate and willingness to thrust himself forward in search of goals, his contribution with the ball is limited. Against Australia he made just five accurate passes, none of them forward, in 45 minutes. It's in this regard that his likely replacement Michael McGlinchey can improve the side.

Next week is live 6:30am Sat, bit more manageable. I'll have someone text or call so I'm not just relying on my cell alarm as well.

Hopefully for a live Football game we won't be pushed back for some Golf or something as sh*tjoachim2010-05-30 06:52:03

They might be replaying dog trials from 1986, so the football will most likely be delayed.
