Elliottt is not known for his goal prowess but for his accurate delivery in passing. When there is a goal in-front of him, he has the problem of trying too hard and then missing over and away. If he only act as though it was a pass delivery with a bit of a swing, he would be more successful. But alas, he just can't do it.

what the f**k are you on about?

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

Even when u looked across the stands there wasn't a lot of people that were even in white.

Not that I am saying you had to, but I will always try and as much white as possible when supporting the all whites.

I enjoyed the game a lot, but the parking issue was a big dampener to start it off. No free bus from Whakatane, so I had to driveand  meet others who were driving from Hamilton. No Parking to be had anywhere, eventually a security person said drive up there, so we parked in a supermarket car park and spent the game worryiing about whehter our vehicles would have been towed away during the game.
If thats how the rugby world cup are going to treat out of towners, then I'd say don't go to games in Auckland.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

I had a chuckle when I read that. Have you played football AWB?

Oi Oi. Next time you're up, park in the Kilarney Street car park in Taka. It's free on weekends if you're in and out the same day (which i assume you were) and a large number of buses run from there to Albany and vice versa, that's without the shuttles.

Three for me, and two for them.

Our Shuttle challenge was then notrunning until 17:30.  We just caught a taxi van but would rather have used the shuttles. Hard News2010-10-10 22:33:19

Elliottt did used to have a reasonable nose for goal and decent strike earlier in his professional career. Chipped in with goals at LA and in his earlier days with the AWs. Obviously, he has slipped further back as his career has progressed and doesnt get in and around the box nearly as often as he used to, so, for instance, he didnt even have a strike on Saturday. Still, he has not been hitting them cleanly over the last 18 months. It seems to me like he almost doesnt consider it his role and is usually looking for an alternative option, and then when he does have a crack he kinda lacks conviction.

One thing that did amaze me was the smell of cannabis in the WN zone. I don't have any objection to da ganja in principle, but getting stoned at a football match? Isn't that precisely the opposite of the kind of state of mind that is appropriate?

Not suprising that group of people were the reason we moved to the opposite corner.

They were the people just in front of us. Security took them out and then they came back a few minutes later. So don't know what was going on there

For next time, I think you should have to phone in for tickets in the noise zone, so it can be explained, 'standing, singing, chanting and a bit of adult humour'.  There were pockets of white and organised chants, but just like the Bahrain match, it was quite spread out.  A dedicated pool on either side would be ideal.
Still enjoyed it, as Ryan said, they are really confident and young, so they should only get better.

Have to mention the players stayed for ages signing autographs, they worked their way along the entire main stand front row. Must have been over 40 minutes.

It was great. I so so so enjoyed Saturday's match!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Don't know if it has been mentioned here, but what's with players confornting the ref like that after the pen decision? It really annoys me how much they get in the face of the ref.

But it was a great game, we were unlucky not to have score 3-4

Also, when most of the other players had left, Winston jumped into the stand to sign a few more.

Yeah I agree totally. I'm bloody sure the keeper gave the ref a shove and fully expected to see a red card for it.

Wouldnt have helped Smeltz though.

I suspected it was them too but i heard 1 of them say [when they got back] that he got pulled out for 1 smoke. I'm picking that without proof of the dreaded weed, the security had nothing to go on.

I also sent a email to North Harbour regarding there crap security. When we were standing up at the start we got abused and the people were kicking us threw there chairs. I can understand that they didn't know they should be standing to. So we went to security and told them that they were doing this and they did sh*t all.

The only issue I had was getting out of the car park at the end of the game, almost an hour we sat there waiting waiting waiting, oh and figuring out which aisle was in fact aisle 29 even the regular N.H rugby fans who'd come along said that was a reason for not coming to games at north harbour stadium spending an age trying to find the right seats, other than that had a blast. it was good to have some of the W.N  boys swing round to aisle 30 for the 2nd half it gave the people on that side a great chuckle, the kids were loving it and  got right into it as well.
