A random question. If the ref is wearing blue why is the Keeper of the Jamaicans allowed to wear blue?

For the same reason Paston and Ivan Necevski were allowed to wear exactly the same kits on Saturday.

Mt Smart should be the home ground for Auckland friendlies. Thought it was a great venue with some outstanding sightlines, especially compared to NHS.

White Noise (or is it Yellow Fever ) - small in numbers and in voice. I was sitting in block 28 on the Lower East stand, and there were some in the Upper East outsinging White Noise and getting the rest of the East stand involved.

So a group that was closer to you with a roof to reflect the noise were better louder where you were than a group in the open much further away?

Back from the game, boy does Chris Wood have some class about him, that guy is going to be some player if he keeps developing this way. Does all the little things right, wins ball in the air and on the ground, makes good runs, always looked threatening. also saw him dropping back to collect ball a number of times when it wasn't coming forward to him. And he scored a nice goal.

Keat looked good, other than his first pass which went straight to a Jamaican, but he looks promising for the future.

Brockie was awful 2nd half, looked slow and struggled to complete a pass.

And the referee, god help us surely there must be someone of a better standard than that muppet???? No pen for us early on, booked one of them for diving when we could hear Reid hit him from the stands, numerous bewildering foul calls, yellows where there was none and no yellows when there should have been. Sorry but he was gash.

White Noise nice n loud from the lower West stand, also heard the East stand getting going a few times too.

enjoyed the game, yet again Bertos and Brown were pointless.  I would have left WeeMac and Rockass on and subbed Brown off for Keat.  Does look like he will the business for the AWs in the future.

I dont know why people keep outlining this. Ive seen this in slow-mo about 10 times and he dived. Reid simply stood his ground, didnt stick a leg out any further than half an inch, and contact was minimal anyway. I actually think it was a good call. But largely the ref was pretty poor - especially when booking a player for time wasting, and then deducting  30seconds from added time... I guess thats what you get when you try to find a neutral ref within Oceania though.

I actually cant wait until Moss gets back either, much better keeper than Paston, especially in one on one situations. Paston struggles with anything closer than 20 yards... and lol at Lochhead getting skinned for that 3rd goal

I've always liked Tony Lochhead as a player, elegant and generally positive when going forward, unlike Bertos who gets the ball, heads to the touchline, can't beat his man and then has to turn back.
But surely after that performance Lochhead's days are numbered. Sure, the Jamaicans were quick, but giving them a couple of meteres and getting caught on the wrong side of them is something a player of his experience should not allow to happen. All three goals down the left.

How are you supposed to pronounce Rojas? The commentator kept at it so he obviously thinks that is correct, but is he?

The marketing of the " White Noise Section" was undersold
I tried buying tickets in the zone, weeks back but was told it was sold out.
There would have been lucky to have been 500 in that area in song

I also thought McGlinchey was solid, more so in the first half. Went Missing and didn`t see much of the ball in the second.

Not so convinced with Keats yet.

A bit harsh on Lochhead considering he wasn't actually playing as leftback and he probably skinned at least half a dozen Jamaican's down the sideline, including three of them in one run.

Agree with this, replay showed the Jamaican had left his feet and was flying forwards before he hit Reid. Ref was right there, that was actually a good call I believe.

You are right, two goals were down to his poor defending.

It was an entertaining game.
Those Jamaicans were quick!
It is pronounced Ro - has but the Spanish "J" entails a bit of clearing the throat.Definitely not a "K"!!
The first goal was a fluke surely? He was meaning to cross it from what I saw.
It wouldn't be a comments section on here without a good moan at the referee from all the armchair refs.

I'll guess that because there was yellow, blue, red and black on the field already there was no alternative?

brockie was wasteful
Kosta gave the ball away nealry everytime he got the thing
You blame lochead but where was smith in covering a wing back.

If herbet is gonna play a formation like that they are always gonna get caught out at the back on a break. Everyone knows what lockhead is like.

The defending was not the best lets face it, regardless if the first goal was a shot or a cross how slow were we to close down the player on the ball?

And please can we just get rid of brown..

Lets not sugar coat it all the time for these guys.

Hate seeing us get the ball on a break then slowing it down and wanting to go back all the time. would rather loose the ball high up the field than the back 3 pumping long balls and loosing it.

Rojas is Spanish.....the J is pronounced as a rolling H.  For example Jesus in Spanish is pronounced "Hey-zeus". So Rojas is Ro-has.

Don't agree with you on Bertos being pointless considering he was the only one that could cross the ball which was surprising.

Poor result which we will all say "It was only a friendly" but you only have to look at Australia's ability to come back from 1-0, 2-1 to end up winning 4-2 in a game that didn't matter to them last night.

Conclusion - We need to play more international games otherwise we are going no where in 2014.

P.S Mount Smart is Ugly.

Very entertaing game. there were lots of positives and a few negatives to come out of it. Considering the AW,s had only one practice session then you can excuse their rustyness.

The UK guys were class. Smith, Wood and Winston have really developed their game to another level. Nelsen was...Nelsen.

Defensively the formation did not work. 3 at the back left acres of room out wide.  The Jamaicans exploited it with long diagonal balls and had too much pace for Lockhead and Brockie tracking back to cover. Ricki will certainly be looking to tighten this area of play

Brown is not the future for the AW,s. Keat looks to have loads of potential.  He should be given as much international experiance as possible starting with the Olympic campaign. He will offer us more value heading towards the 2014 WC than an aging Brown.

Rockarse is a little gem! It brought tears of joy watching him and the other youngsters in the first half. Sure Kosta looked a little rusty and Weemac was too isolated at times but their potential is enormous.

A 3-2 loss is not the end of the world. Jamaica are a good solid side who have some strong athletic players. But there is no world beaters in their team. It won't be easy but if we are properly prepared, get our selection and tactics right then we have a real good chance agaisnt who ever we playoff for the Brazil 2014 WC

I think you are overrating the UK guys. They do appear more confident but they didn't appear that much better than other players. In fact all 3 goals came through where Smith was or should have been defending, plus a couple more dangerous attacks. He looked quite slow to me. Reid and Wood both made plenty of mistakes although they were both enthusiastic which was good. I wouldn't say they were a class above though.

It depresses me to think how we have lost both Rojas and Kosta from the Phoenix. Great to see them play at that level but still bitter-sweet.

Yep the Rockarse thing was annoying me as well. Then Dewhurst continued to call Dan Keat - Keats. Do some research!!!  He even had his name on the back of his shirt to make it easier.
