For the same reason Paston and Ivan Necevski were allowed to wear exactly the same kits on Saturday.

Mt Smart should be the home ground for Auckland friendlies. Thought it was a great venue with some outstanding sightlines, especially compared to NHS.

White Noise (or is it Yellow Fever ) - small in numbers and in voice. I was sitting in block 28 on the Lower East stand, and there were some in the Upper East outsinging White Noise and getting the rest of the East stand involved.

Back from the game, boy does Chris Wood have some class about him, that guy is going to be some player if he keeps developing this way. Does all the little things right, wins ball in the air and on the ground, makes good runs, always looked threatening. also saw him dropping back to collect ball a number of times when it wasn't coming forward to him. And he scored a nice goal.

enjoyed the game, yet again Bertos and Brown were pointless.  I would have left WeeMac and Rockass on and subbed Brown off for Keat.  Does look like he will the business for the AWs in the future.

I dont know why people keep outlining this. Ive seen this in slow-mo about 10 times and he dived. Reid simply stood his ground, didnt stick a leg out any further than half an inch, and contact was minimal anyway. I actually think it was a good call. But largely the ref was pretty poor - especially when booking a player for time wasting, and then deducting  30seconds from added time... I guess thats what you get when you try to find a neutral ref within Oceania though.

I actually cant wait until Moss gets back either, much better keeper than Paston, especially in one on one situations. Paston struggles with anything closer than 20 yards... and lol at Lochhead getting skinned for that 3rd goal

I've always liked Tony Lochhead as a player, elegant and generally positive when going forward, unlike Bertos who gets the ball, heads to the touchline, can't beat his man and then has to turn back.

How are you supposed to pronounce Rojas? The commentator kept at it so he obviously thinks that is correct, but is he?

I like watching McGlinchey play. thought he was really starting to find some rhythm before he was taken off

A bit harsh on Lochhead considering he wasn't actually playing as leftback and he probably skinned at least half a dozen Jamaican's down the sideline, including three of them in one run.

Agree with this, replay showed the Jamaican had left his feet and was flying forwards before he hit Reid. Ref was right there, that was actually a good call I believe.

You are right, two goals were down to his poor defending.

Don't agree with you on Bertos being pointless considering he was the only one that could cross the ball which was surprising.

Poor result which we will all say "It was only a friendly" but you only have to look at Australia's ability to come back from 1-0, 2-1 to end up winning 4-2 in a game that didn't matter to them last night.

Conclusion - We need to play more international games otherwise we are going no where in 2014.

P.S Mount Smart is Ugly.

Very entertaing game. there were lots of positives and a few negatives to come out of it. Considering the AW,s had only one practice session then you can excuse their rustyness.

I think you are overrating the UK guys. They do appear more confident but they didn't appear that much better than other players. In fact all 3 goals came through where Smith was or should have been defending, plus a couple more dangerous attacks. He looked quite slow to me. Reid and Wood both made plenty of mistakes although they were both enthusiastic which was good. I wouldn't say they were a class above though.

It depresses me to think how we have lost both Rojas and Kosta from the Phoenix. Great to see them play at that level but still bitter-sweet.

I had to put the game on mute because, I was raging every time they pronounced Rojas wrong.

The weird thing is, when he was at the nix they pronounced it correctly.

Yep the Rockarse thing was annoying me as well. Then Dewhurst continued to call Dan Keat - Keats. Do some research!!!  He even had his name on the back of his shirt to make it easier.
