To be honest I think New Zealand should not be fussy in who they play in warm ups. fact is they have not had enough warm up games full stop. They need game time.

There is no real decent international window this season (The March window is midweek) so I am of the same view. Australia has not confirmed its team for the home game in May (the send off game which looks like being Croatia but nothing has been publicly released yet) but if they are worried about playing styles and all that jazz, it is starting to get to the stage where you have to say f..k it, just get a game and shut up.

You would rather have games locked in than pick and choose teams because they play a similar style to one of your group game opponents. Both Federations are taking too long now, looks silly.

I don't think their decision making skills are looking that great. Making up a pack of lies about the Scottish Football Association doesn't seem to be a great decision. Sounds like Scotland won't be particularly interested now in playing the All Whites any time for years to come.

I'm sure the All Whites won't care too much. Scotland are hardly glamarous opposition now are they?

We can't help it we don't have the glamour, the history and the worldwide reputation that Honduras have, can we.

As for the AWs not caring too much?  I suspect Scotland care even less.

The All Whites actually must care too some extent, as last week they were talking about the possibility of playing Scotland. And this may be baffle Buffon, but World Cup preperation is actually quite important for the All Whites. It's not all about "glamarous" teams which is lucky, because it means teams will play us. Regardless, Scotland would obviously draw a Big crowd in New Zealand (as would other British sides - like Ireland).

Now, hopfully not many other countries in the world haven't taken notice of our behaviour and decided it's best just not to deal with us, than have us start making up lies about them.

My only wish is for us to play Greece.. I would be the happiest man in the world if we can go up against the Greeks.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Great to have Serbia and Slovenia locked in.  That's three quality friendlies locked in.  Few more and we're set.

Still hoping for a game against Denmark or Ireland.

Serbia and Slovenia will be excellent frendlies in prep for Slovakia. I wonder if NZF have any South American opponents in the pipe line?

Three for me, and two for them.

Slovenia will be a good game, a much better team than Slovakia.
Why is the Serbia game being played in neutral Klagenfurt instead of Belgrade where we will be playing in front of a screaming 50,000 crowd?

No way 50,000 would turn out to watch a friendly against NZ. More like 5,000.

It's better to play at a neutral venue in preparation for the World Cup.

thats probably fair enough then but if that was the only reason then there are much better places to play than Klagenfurt

I'm sorry I forgot that real football fans don't go to games to actually support their team, they just sit at home and watch dickwad english premier league

Klagenfurt isn't actually that far away, it's right on the border with Slovenia. Speaking roughly, I reckon 3-hour drive from Belgrade.

Perhaps a "Winston Reid Trial Match". He plays one half for the Danes, one half for us, then he can finally decide who he wants to play for

For those that are heading out to LA for the Mexico game the tickets are now on sales via Ticket Master. It looks like the cheapest tickets are $25USD and the high end is a bargin of $95USD.

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago if your heading out for the game let me know.

Hearing rumours that Bosnia may be going to play Australia in Oz at the end of May, if true maybe we could entice them to come over here too.

I'll translate the relevant bit - the title of the article is Possible match against Australia. Basically says that the FFA have unofficially approached the Bosnian football federation over the possibility of playing a friendly between the two countries in Melbourne at the end of May this year. No official offer has been made, and apparently the Bosnians are waiting for that.

What I've heard is that they're not too keen - too far away, and they have a glamour friendly against Germany in early June, so they'd prefer to play in Europe. Apparently Paraguay have approached them about a friendly in Europe as well around the same time, so I guess if they sort that one out, they won't be coming to Australia.

No great loss to be honest. Only a small vocal minority out western suburban Melbourne way would be revved up for this one.

Anyone based in Europe think about having a long weekend and hopping over to central Europe for these games?  Would be great if a few of us could meet up and wave the flag for the Euro Kiwi contingent.
