50 according to wiki. I notice they have Caleb Rufer on their books too.  Must be dead set for a call up too.

Must point out that Caleb Rufer didn't look very flash for the Phoenix A team.

FFS. I know I'm going to regret this, but at least a degree of sanity has to be restored here.

So let's see. Stefan Marinovic. 19 years old, contracted to SV Wehen Wiesbaden until 2012. Made only 2 appearances for the club's first team in the 3. Bundesliga in the season 2009/2010, conceding 7 goals. Most of his playing time comes from the club's second team, playing in the Regionalliga Sud (4th tier of German football). He played in 15 games (less than half the season) in this division in 2009/2010, conceding 23 goals. This season (2010/2011) he's played in 8 games in Regionalliga Sud (again, less than half the games the team's played so far) and conceded 18 goals. So his overall career at the club, playing for both first and second teams, includes 25 games played and 48 goals conceded at hardly a high level of football.

So in summary, the guy who fails to establish himself as a regular starter for the club's second team playing in the 4th tier of German football and who through his career gives up just under two goals a game is clearly the best goalkeeping talent NZ has had in the history of the universe and should be the automatic starter, captain, and penalty taker for the All Whites from tomorrow until the day he dies. Heck, he'll probably be the best keeper we have ever had even then. Rigor mortis and decomposition can't really do much to a talent like this.

Ye gods.

Over and out.

Please come back, some of us miss you. Need you to outweigh some of the stupid.

Dear Wynton,

You may have got your boys in to Euro clubs via your contacts but the All Whites is a different kettle.

Plus no one listens to you here because they know you're mental.

Cheers,

TL

When Wynton compared the two club'c budgets Paston was fit and first choice, playing for Wellington Phoenix who have half the budget of Mirinovic's club, SV Wehen Wiesbaden who have over twice as many contracted players. Pointless argument but just showing that Wynton's rant was stupid.

He's getting academy time. Thats about it. EPL is tough to crack after all. Dunno about loan, but perhaps that would be best for him.

On the other hand, you aren't full of surprises.  That is, most of what you post is utter sh*t.

Tell you what, if Stefan is such an obvious choice how about this.  If this Stefan guy gets a call up, I'll donate $20 to a charity of your choice.  If Jake does, you donate $20 to a charity of  my choice.  And if neither do, we both donate.

Deal?

It's a youth league with no promotion or relegation.  It's hardly going to be professional is it?

It a 20 game competition that is run in between NCAA seasons so that those NCAA players have an opportunity to play in the off season.  It needs to be amatur so that these NCAA players maintain their college eligibility.

My initial comment on his league being non professional was meant in jest. Now we learn gleeson is not even good enough for semi pro

2nd best thanks for the research but I rest my case

Take up my offer if you are so confident.

Your whole case is that Rufer reckons this guy is good.  If this is your case, then I would say you are probably the worst lawyer going around.  But some of us know for a fact that you aren't a lawyer.

I once saw on another forum somewhere a section where newly registered posters would have to post in first before being allowed to post in the main forum. This meant they had to prove that they were not stupid trolls or whatever before going in the main forum.

Sometimes I believe something like this would help this forum filter out some of the knobheads that frequently infiltrate this forum and drive myself and others off it.

Give both Gleeson and Marnivich a try and whoever is the better one keep (pun intended) on.

Both players have potential, but have simply gone down different routes.

One has played NZFC, one was 3rd choice at an NZFC side.

One plays in a development league for a 2nd tier side in a nation famous for developing good keepers, the other is playing pub football in germany.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Yet this Auckland lawyer chap rests his 'case' without actually responding to anyone else's points or without backing up his own with facts.

Funny bloke.
