FFS. I know I'm going to regret this, but at least a degree of sanity has to be restored here.
So let's see. Stefan Marinovic. 19 years old, contracted to SV Wehen Wiesbaden until 2012. Made only 2 appearances for the club's first team in the 3. Bundesliga in the season 2009/2010, conceding 7 goals. Most of his playing time comes from the club's second team, playing in the Regionalliga Sud (4th tier of German football). He played in 15 games (less than half the season) in this division in 2009/2010, conceding 23 goals. This season (2010/2011) he's played in 8 games in Regionalliga Sud (again, less than half the games the team's played so far) and conceded 18 goals. So his overall career at the club, playing for both first and second teams, includes 25 games played and 48 goals conceded at hardly a high level of football.
So in summary, the guy who fails to establish himself as a regular starter for the club's second team playing in the 4th tier of German football and who through his career gives up just under two goals a game is clearly the best goalkeeping talent NZ has had in the history of the universe and should be the automatic starter, captain, and penalty taker for the All Whites from tomorrow until the day he dies. Heck, he'll probably be the best keeper we have ever had even then. Rigor mortis and decomposition can't really do much to a talent like this.
Ye gods.
Over and out.
Please come back, some of us miss you. Need you to outweigh some of the stupid.
