Then two weeks to convince them about the extra seating... and those sold in 48 hours.

Then it's a big screen somewhere for all those who missed out and we'll have the greatest weekend NZ football has ever seen,

Can we really do the big screen?
I can't see NZ Football paying for it, but it would be ace!

Are the temporary seats on the playing surface?
Just on either side, or behind the goals as well?

I looked for a photo but couldn't find one; can anyone post or link to one?

Also, will all corporate boxes be occupied?

with temp seating they could always bolt some small stands on the roof and strap the supporters in (call it the away stand, it'll be too windy and cold to chant from) .

Im sure the Bahrain royal family won't mind if they get blown back to Bahrain.

Just single seats in A reverse left.
White Noise seats are all gone.
Limited seats in the Bahrain section
B reverse seats left.

I take it, kiwis are allowed to buy up the tickets in the Bahrain section.

if they do bring in temp seating. Any chance of changing my tickets? Getting closer to the action would be great.

The match is about to sell out!!!!

Just single seats left, in A,B and Bahrian supporters, while white noise is all gone.

Im guessing in a hour there will be none left.

Man I voted for 25,000-30,000 on the first day of this pole. And i thought i was being generous.

Come on! Sell Out by Monday. Hopefully The TV networks pick up on this, and advertise the very limited numbers left, so they get snapped up.

I wonder what the highest price on Trade me will be for a ticket. HA and this is football were talking about.

I have to say it - Wellington was the right choice 100% IMO.

We really are the lucky city.  But we deserve it.  A city of splendour.

AKL on the otherhand, 5 minutes after landing it's like "f**k me.  Where am I"?

This is such great news. I didn't think the public would get behind it as much as they have. I thought it might sell out one the very day of kickoff but almost one month before then is very good.

We need the temporary seats. Sure, it might cost a bit but who will care if this gets us to the world cup? It's going to be a great atmosphere anyway but the extra 4,000 people there would just be awesome.

Technically it would add just over 10% to the size of the crowd, so perhaps a wee bit short of 'awesome'. Still worth doing though ...

Perhaps those seats could be sold at an increased price to cover the extra $25.
If they're at pitch level and close to the action then it sounds like a fair deal.

f**k Auckland, they couldn't even break even on the OFC v Galaxy game. Wellington is more central to which makes flights cheaper for south islanders

Seats all but sold and cant even get two seats in the same section. May have to leave the wifee at home. Hope they pull in the extra seats. Dont care if they are strapped to the roof as long as see the AW take it out. Town will go off! skylab892009-10-16 20:05:57

Put those extra seasts in!!!

They shold look at getting some sponsorship to pay for the installation. Very soon everyone will be jumping on the All White bandwagon now they realise how big it is going to be.

Maybe get the coporates to pay for some, perhaps the Wellington City Council could chip in too. especially considering that 50% of those comng to the game are live outside of Wellington.
Maybe the Govt could help out...they are spendiing 250million on the World rugby Cup.

A 40,000 crowd would be AWESOME. It would really set a new record for a football match in NZ. Plus it would be even more intimidating for the bahrainis

You either have a fantastic marriage or you are a very, very brave man.

On another note I wonder if there are any parasites hocking off tickets on Trademe yet.

Forget the extra seats, I think they should put corporate tables around the pitch like at the boxing.

By the way, can we stop all this "f**k Auckland" bollox, it's pretty unnecessary and there's plenty of folks from up there coming down anyway.

Well going on the buzz on here, this is just like the atmosphere in 82 when the country briefly got behind the team. A fantastic time for everyone and who better to remember that than our very own coach. He'll be so buzzing at seeing so many there again for another World Cup Playoff type scenario.

The point wasn't directed at Aucklanders as such, just that a lot of people from down south would have hesitated before traveling all the way to Auckland. Wellington is a more viable option.

If we can't get extra seating, could the Crusaders lend us their horsemen?

It would put the sh*ts up them.

I remember form the Lions tour they had extra seats. Behind the goal 4 or 5 tiers with the front row having your feet on the grass.....would not be too bad for a football game. Also they had 4 or 5 tiers running 3/4 of the field on the sides. The lower side ones would be crap coz part of the field would be hidden by the advertising hoardings.

Not sure what the FIFA regs are about fencing off seating. You could be out of one of those seats and onto the pitch in a flash.
