absolutely fair enough. i have noticed the complete lack of coverage of football this year. its very dissapointing. I am finding myself less and less likely to watch 3News now and this is just another reason not to bother

you're aboslutely right TV3 have missed a trick here. Really disappointed as they have wlays been my preferred news and sport provider but this is a slap in the face.
I am also unable to put all my thoughts concisely in one post as you can see.

i have been finding myself spending more time online looking at news websites for football information and have just about given up hope of finding it after 6.30, so we watch friends now instead. ha!

I would be very surprised if they paid for it. They sent someone to South Africa for Confeds and that was not paid for by them.

I did see a 30sec clip at lunchtime on tv3 about Nelsen being fit etc...also had a little interview about him ticking off the boxes if he makes it to the world cup.

still very very very poor.

It's shoddy.

There's so little sport on at the moment anyway (not that that should be the reason) - I'd really like someone from TV3 to get on here and try and explain it

I'd like to see them argue their way out of this! They wouldn't stand a chance against some of the finest minds NZ has to offer...

Where's Gourdie holidaying anyway?
Not en-route to Manama, is he??!
If Tv3  had smarts they'd be sending him the tickets, upping his salary and recalling him to Bahrain duty pronto.

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

I've got MySky and rewinded the sports news cause I figured I'd missed it. Sadly it was 3 News that missed it. Big time. Possibly the last time I watch 3 News.

Its no longer a problem.

Seriously poor arse effort from all involved. This is higher on the f**k-up scale that Sky with their sh*te A-League coverage so far this season!

I've generally watched TV3 news, but you're right, they are very reliant on re-hashing the news feeds everyone else gives them, their 5 minutes blahblahblah sessions over what Tiger Woods had for breakfast and umpteen replays of him hitting a golf ball.

Sounds like TV3 and their news production could use someone with a better world view to be in charge.

Good opinion piece. VERY disappointed with TV3 going to sleep on this. It is a testament to Gourdie that any football gets on at all if that is the case and amazing that there is local football too.

Other than switching channels is there anything else (constructive sort of) that can be done?

Did this get sent out to the various media orgs or is it for our own angst? Its a shame if it did get sent out that TV3 hasn't responded. The papers again today spectacular, Radio Sport get it so I dont understand why the TV channels don't. The rumour about the TV1 reporter going, true?

yea pretty useless. Have always watched 3 because of better football and sport in general but looks like my efforts to fight off 4 flatmates from changing it to tv1 will cease

Late sports news managed an story on Fergusson losing his rag at unfit officials and Goldenballs playing in Europe. Complete bollocks stories when the national team is on the verge on World Cup qualification. The have no clue.

Ridiculous- particularly given when any Kiwi does well, it tends to get given mass media attention- cyclists, golfers, whatever. And now we're close to competing in the biggest competition in the world's most popular sport and they don't give much, if any, coverage. Bizarre.

reporters only jump on the bandwagon if we're winning. If it ain't rugby or sailing or cricket then there won't be piss all coverage until its over and done with us doing well etc..... f**ken gay!!!

atleast its on the radio and in the papers because if it wasn't no-one would know it was on.

Unbelievable really. I think anywhere else in the world this match would be THE top story in the week leading up to the game. I haven't really seen the sports news all week so what have they been covering if not the football?

Well, there's been a tiny bit (!) of rugby. And the netball, too. Lets face it, its only football...

At least they're aware it is on. News now: Sevens at olympics, NPC rugby, Netball Max, Bathurst... F..k off TN3/TVNZ.

And now (both channels): League fundraiser, More netball ("world series", with a reporter in England), More NPC, Indy car series (Sorry, but Dixon FTW!), Ironman in Hawaii, More Bathurst, More Ironman, windsurfing, road relay champs, Handball (FFS), golf, plays of the week, and blow me away, no football at all.

Un f&%king believable.

Oh wait, they actually mentioned the match at the very end, on 3.  Stil Epic Fail.

Nothing on TV1. Mentioned for half a second on TV3.

You would swear this match isn't on based on that (extended i might add) sports coverage on our two main TV news networks.

Three for me, and two for them.

Hmmm.. Boycott is a bit much, given that they are the only channel who gives proper Nix reports.
