Gimme PAX!

Now that tickets for the two October games have gone on general sale I think we need to consolidate all PAX updates in one place rather than clutter up the other threads.

I just bought 12 tickets for the Paraguay game at lunchtime. Highest PAX = 4778

The highest PAX for the Honduras game that I can find in the other threads is 2374, but we must be well past that already. Any updates?

Honduras Pax = 4747-4749 in Block 3 as only one seat was left in Bloc 5

That's good PAX, thanks Oceanic6.

It's day 2 of general sales though, surely someone has some new PAX this morning?

a month out from the 1st game of the intl series, I'm disappointed there isn't more pax.

all it needs is for one radio jockey to hypothesize that the the games are a few tickets away from selling out... then both games will sell out within 24 hours.

It's like in olympic velodrome cycling when there's that moment when they all suddenly bolt.

Can we please keep any bullsh*t parochial trolling to the Post World Cup Friendlies Angst thread.

This thread is for pure PAX addicts.

Not that there's much PAX to be had at the moment. We need a PAX Mr Asia to come to town and flood the market with 100% pure PAX.

As long as your PAX courier isn't Shapelle Corby we should be alright.

Shouldve made two PAX threads then, one for each match. That way the addicts would know to keep out of the Auckland thread

So how do you tell the PAX when buying onine?  I'm looking at the transaction number plus a number on the end that says 7380 for the Honduras game.
Either way, the only choice for more than a few tickets is Block 1 & 2 (extreme east end) or Block 21, uncovered extreme west.

I like the bit where it says "Away Zone (alloc. exhausted)". Good away support is always good.

I think its only printed on the ticket, not the transaction receipt.

Just heard on Radio sport " Michael Glading has issued a challenge to Wellington football fans to get out to the Paraguay game, Auckland has it's nose in front with ticket sales".

Pretty good for Auckland considering their ticket prices for Adults start at $49, whereas Wellington starts at $39.

You're right HN, the open stand seating area is $39.

mmm... If I paid $49.00 per seat for ten in the Bloc it might explain why my Visa spat the dummy on another transaction.

How's my driving? - Whine here

If that happens, and NHS sells out, oh some of the red faces you will see among the more hard-core Wellington parochialists.

Well, there are many Latin Americans in Auckland... speaking of which, I wonder whether there will be political trouble. Many of AKL's LatAm community are kind of lefty and are none too happy about the coup that overthrew Honduras' president last year.

"Parochialist"

Is that like David Brent's  (The Office) wonderful word "anecdotalist"?

Michael Glading can challenge the Wellington football supporters all he likes and he can even shout until his face turns blue. Reality is that Wellington football supporters are more sophisticated and discerning than the perennial marketer could ever imagine! Wouldn't it be a surprise if a much smaller crowd turns up for the NZ v Paraguay friendly game at the Caketin. If NZ and Paraguay promise to field a first team line up, then people will respond. Fact is both teams are simply going to have a friendly kick-around and nz football tries to make a big buck or two out of this. Yea, better keep your bucks in your pocket until a real and meaningful international match is staged and played in the Caketin, then Wellingtonians will turn up in force and along with other football supporters, fill up the stadium again!! Staring at a $0.5 million loss here, anyone?

Theyre called friendlies for some stupid reason but theyre not really... they still count towards our ranking. Lose too many 'friendlies' and youre going to slip further down the ladder. 'Friendlies' need to be won, people need to realise this. Especially for us, we're not going to climb the ladder by winning 'meaningful' Oceania matches.

Well, james dean, lets see who is right on these friendly matches. Of course, so-called playoff matches against Fiji or Vanuatu will not draw huge crowds either, but is there guarantee that nz will beat them eveytime? If Wellingtonian football lovers agree with you, how come that PAX han't gone through the roof with only 4 weeks to go? You may end up eating your humble pie.
