Would much rather play Saudi, though if we play Bahrain we could get advice from the Aussies in how to get dominated by them and still sneak a win

'Twas kicked from the spot, after a rather soft penalty.

Well it seems I missed a lot of good action in the second half. I doubt there'll be a replay...but lets hope for some damn TV news tonight, and not this friggen black hole that we've been seeing as of late.

NOTE TO THE PRESS:  IT'S THE WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION. NOT THE "RUGBY WORLD CUP" BUT THE WORLD CUP.  LOOK IT UP IF YOU NEED TO.

Don't ask me, they're really leaving it to the wire this time.. With the likes of the talent they have you wouldn't think it would be so hard to pull the trigger and finish for once.

Good result. Smeltz and Fallon class up front. Paston a bit uncertain (poor goal to concede, a bit of flapping around in the second). Defence was repeatedly opened up with worrying ease in the second half, luckily Jordan lacked a bit of composure in front of goal.

The ref an absolute muppet, gives us a penalty for nothing, sends Ivan when he should've booked him, and didn't give them a penalty when Elliott tripped one of their guys in the box. Plus the guy had the hairiest arms ever.

With the exception of the free kick Paston had a fantastic game. Saved a few good other free kicks and punched away many. I remember one low hard shot he stopped near the post aswell.

Fallon and Mcglinchey are great additions to the squad. Smeltz all class as usual. He cant do anything wrong at the moment. Although defensively we are still quite fragile. Bahrain is not going to be easy at all.
And what the hell was the ref doing????????????????Absolutely useless! I hope we get someone better for the qualifiers!!

Now I didn't think Pasty was terrible, but you can't really accuse him of being fantastic either.

Setting aside the free kick, go back and watch again how many times he kicked the ball straight out off the deck.  Not something you expect to see from an international goalkeeper.

I'll also give him the benefit of the doubt for the one he lost in the lights.

We're stuck with him though, there is nobody else, so let's just get on with it.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

That's it Smithy - didn't say he was terrible, he did make some very good saves. Just that he looked a bit uncertain at times. He'll be the keeper for the qualifiers, and is more than capable of doing a good job there.

Well his distribution has always been weak. However in terms of goalkeeping (saving goals or close chances) he was excellent IMO.

From what I saw Ivan got a yellow for the handfall (harsh but no reasl issue). I think the red was for talking back but it must have been a straight red as I didn't see a second yellow. He must have said something pretty bad for a straight red card. Does this mean he's suspended for the Bahrain game?
Overall I was pretty happy with the game and the way we played. Ref was poo's though. To quote Tana, "It's not tiddlywinks ref".
Fallon was very impressive and Judas did well too.

Its no longer a problem.

No.  Friendly cards don't carry over to FIFA competition games.

Didn't have a lot to do.  I recall two wayward passes, a mazy run ending in a loss of possession, and a bobsled giving away a free kick on the edge of the attacking third.

Like the other subs (except maybe Scott who was quite busy) he didn't get a lot of the ball.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I do love that Ricki bought Fallen off instead of Smeltz.  Stick that up you Clive/Miron

He "bought him off" - what did that set him back and is this because he was some kind of informant?

Also, who is this Fallen chap?

And, have you been to the Chump Elrich school of media training?

Argentina in the sh*ts...losing 1-0 atm, and according to my cousin, nowhere to be seen on the pitch. Paraguay also hit the crossbar and the post.

We're missing Moss for sure. Fairly happy with the rest.

Ref ruined it. Made the bunch of officials down here look brilliant.

If he was subbed off then maybe this chap is Fallen Gone (not an informant but a strange cultist)
