Well what a game. Hard choice between Fallon, Paston, Nelsen and Killen for me. All played fantastic and I will be disappointed if we drop Paston for Moss if there is not change in form come World Cup. Had a good feeling Paston would save it I must say.

To be honest we should of got maybe 2 more? Will be very interesting to see what formation we use next year.

I must say all the players had a good game. Voted for Paston as his save was worth more then the goal. He also made several saves which were crucial. Bertos seems back in form which is good for the Phoenix.

I wonder if we will organise pre-WC games against decent opposition? Australia in a 2 leg clash would be awesome...

Yeah a competitive match vs Aus would be up there with todays game (Although nothing could match todays I think).wellyphoenixfan2009-11-14 23:27:36

Paston for me.

Have to say when it was Pason v Moss at Nix i was a Moss fan but Paston has been a revalation this year and consistent game time has made his a better and more confident player.

Great penalty save and have more babies!!!

Nelson had everyone exactly where he wanted them, he was awesome and really showed his class. Paston or him... can't decide.... how bout everyone?

I hope Nelsen doesn't get outshined at the WC. Praying for an easy group. South Africa in our pool as they have a seeding of 1 and I think we could draw with them if we have Nelsen and are in-form unlike Confeds Cup..

Wood is going to be so impressive one day. I can seriously see him at a top PL club. HUGE talent there, as crazy as it sounds I think he will be better then Rufer.wellyphoenixfan2009-11-15 00:13:43

Yeah wood has brilliant potential. Paston was magic tonight. That diving save to cut out the cross was simply brilliant

I admit I was a bit worried about Paston. Three weeks without match practise is a lot when you're about to turn out for the biggest game of your career. But he did all that was needed and then some. Those two saves in quick succession in the 1st half were very important, and showed he was fully focused and on the ball.

Also, apart from that misjudgement that led to the penalty, that was the best game I have ever seen Tony Lochhead play.

If I had to choose one it would be between Nelsen, Paston, Rory and Killen

Easy vote for me. Killen. He was the best forward, and the best midfielder, in one. We're incredibly fortunate to have players like him and Nelsen.

So is God Fallon or Paston? (or ids "god' just getting all the votes by fait?)

I don't remember a lot of the game other than the goal and the pen save, but I thought Bertos did a good job in getting forward a lot more and forcing corners, free kicks. Hard to go past Paston though.

Went with Paston (or mark Preston as Tommy Smyth-with-a-y referred to him during half-time highlights during Ireland/France game)

..but maybe Nelson too.

Thinking about it now... big ups to Ryan being injured just before the Con Feds Cup.

Had he been sweet Ivan might not have come out of retirement and helped create this monumental achievement (oh yeah, the English commentators were calling him Vic-A-Lik!!!)

All of them. Real team effort of the highest quality.

If there was a vote for best assist, I'd vote for the crowd!

Just hope we get enough quality games (with the full squad including  Nelsen), before we get to South Africa.
