Seems to be no TV coverage in Australia of NZ u-20 v Aussies Monday evening.

Piece on Young Socceroos 2-2 draw with Germany u-21 a week ago:

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/1154206/Young-Roos-draw-with-Germany

Some matches from FIFA u-20 World Cup Turkey streaming on Australia's SBS "World Game" website for free:

"All the Young Socceroos matches at FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013, plus the semi-finals and final, will be LIVE on SBS TV and streamed online on The World Game."

Place to find the games streaming:  http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/

Other major football matches sometimes stream there too.

N.B. SBS restricts viewing outside of Australia but you  can get around it by acquiring access to an Aussie VPN server (for a relatively small fee - can sign up for monthly/ annual)

Details: http://www.ausbt.com.au/how-to-watch-abc-iview-news-24-other-aussie-tv-services-overseas

Buy access to a VPN server here: https://my.witopia.net/?a=services

Scroll down and choose second option "personalVPN™ (Basic)"

Click on pricing option (monthly, annually etc.)

Follow the many instructions to install the software and find the box for selecting server location

(select an Aussie location for accessing Aussie sites or elsewhere for sites in other countries such as UK or USA)

Some people find this VPN provider more reliable, though more expensive (works the same way but may provide faster internet):

With only 3 pre tournament friendlies are we starting with our shadow 11 straight away or is there time to tinker and experiment with players and positions.

Would love to see this game tomorrow and how we line up.

Basalaj

Roux Adams Solomons Higgins

Fenton      Gulley      Howieson

Thomas    Boyd      Van Elia

...not surprised we're being pumped against a virtual A League quality side and a team that have been together longer and have just been in Europe competing against UEFA U21 sides...

Well considering three of these guys are A-League players..

Whats the score?

I was hoping for a good performance... but it really does also highlight the difference between their build up and ours!!

3-0 after 47 taggart hatrick

Ouch.

Missing Payne and Tuiloma in the starting squad. Not sure about how much of a difference having Jordan starting would make either.

So starters missing: Payne, Tuiloma, Jordan and Croncombe - would anyone else be seen as a near certainty to start??

oh oh  4-0

But Australia don't even have Gameiro or Caira and potentially others too

unhappy.  how are these goals being scored????? is higgins struggling?

Permalink Permalink

Ganeiro isn't starting for them at the moment is he??

Not a good result, but again we are playing against a team coming off games against Holland and Germany where as we have played no one for months.

I hoped for the best but did expect to get beater by a couple. Not four obviously. I guess the bigger question is are we keepng possession and making chances as well, but not converting them. Is the defence been sloppy and the goals.

Does the scoreline reflect the actual gap or not.

My question is.....Why are we not scoring???????

Yep think Chris will need to go back to the drawing board. maybe not rely in these so called 'Pros" so much

I was there..

Goals all came straight down the middle of the pitch.

Mistakes throughout

Aussie just sharper and gifted 3goals

There goalie pulled off a few great saves..

Best on pitch for aussie - Adam taggret, connor pain and adam galloway

Best for nz - elia, roux and higgins..

Can't say I was. That looks to be a pretty solid Aussie team. Bulk of their starting team were A-League regulars, whilst ours are people that struggle to get games in the ASB Premiership. Massive gulf in levels.

Any logical reason why those four did not start (were they not in the country or something? )

Auckland will rise once more

Okay, so positives were:

* All their goals came straight through the middle, what was this team missing.... its middle in Payne and (Name blank... the Bristol City lad). Hopefully with these two in there it will strengthen that side of things.

* We gifted three goals, given more time together training and playing this shouldn't happen.

*We had some decent shots at goal, but were denied.

I am really keen to see how Milicich responds to this and what he has to say... i expect the typical the scoreline didn't reflect the game. We had patches where we were very competative and unlcuky not to score whereas the wre more ruthless and punished us for our errors. Plus we are a new side, we can only get better and have much more room to develop whereas Australia is potentially already peaking given their build up.

Im suprised by the scoreline.  This squad (even minus billy t and Payne) should not get f*cked like that - ie damage limitation ahead of the tournament n'all
