Awesome result. Can't ask for more than that - 4 wins from 4 and smashing the game they had to win

Milicich on Radio Sport just now singled out Justin Gulley as the best player for them during the 4 games, closely followed by Cam Howieson.

This Gulley kid playing for Team Welly, potential for him to go on to better things?

He's played for Team Welly for a couple of seasons and the yoof sides since he was 15ish.  Can play lots of roles as well.  Best news of all is in the centre of midfield.

I got told the same thing -

The squad was rotated very well and most players got 2 starts each.

Maybe Lindsay should have been part of that squad so he could get his 'fair go'.

Obvisously a good standard within the squad..

Do yellow cards get carried through to the world cup? or are they wiped after qualifiers?

I know, I was referencing the people that were criticising Ricki for not giving Lindsay a fair go at the Nix, and those who mocked those people saying that this isn't U13s where all players take their turn sitting on the sideline. In joke.

Anyone shed light on the yellow card suspensions being carried through? If so Fenton would miss first game..

Mate wouldn't be surprised if Biss and Edge were dropped.

Having said that I dont think any of the Nix Academy guys will be dropped and everyone seems pretty high on Jesse Edge around the traps.

Wonder who Milicich might bring in except for the obvious of course - Tim Payne. I guess it's a 21 man squad again? Alec Solomons would probably be included as well no doubt

Do we get to take overage players?

21man squad for the World Cup - 3x Keepers

No one will be cut - Tim Payne will come in, another Keeper (Probably the Under 17s current keeper)

Doubt itll be the U-17 keeper. Anderson or Carr probs. And someone has to be cut for Payne to come in plus another keeper.

Personally though Id rather he keeps the squad together plus extra keeper and payne with him just dropping whoever he has to to bring payne in.

Also itd be nice to see a decent build up for them. A good chance to play the Aussies before the tournament and perhaps a few games in Europe

Chris Millicich on Radio Sport saying Justin Gulley was NZ's player of the tournament with Cam Howieson second.

He also said New Caledonia had the two best players in the entire competition.. which I thought was interesting.

Based on the above video, i'd wager their keeper isn't one of them.

Three for me, and two for them.

Hope he gives the names to Domey, tho saying that u20 is probably too late to grab them for the FSE.

I said FSE, not the Phoenix.  If one was a star, they could be worth the slot anyway eg Marco at Victory.

After that pre-season tour to India, Gareth spoke about bringing some young Indian players out. I would rather we look in our own backyard.

So anyone keen to actually go to the u20 World Cup.

Wife has given me a pass for a week - 10 days so could fit in atleast two of the NZ games.

Would be happy to do some hotel / board searching for accommodation etc for interested parties. This is probably more for the NZer's of us overseas, but it is a great place to holiday if you have not been before.

contemplating a long weekend from London for the Croatia game, tickets are a little pricey at the moment though looking around £300 return so will think about it over the next few weeks and see if i can get any thing cheaper. Looks like you can get a ferry from Istanbul to close to where they're playing so that would be what I would be looking at doing...

great to see boyd & fenton playing so intelligently. Boyd made loads of great linkup play and could have had a few more goals
