one of those calls that isnt obvious error and in all reality VAR shouldnt be making a call on. Noone is calling that without technology.

Same situation as when we were 2-0 down last week in a way. A situation in which you gotta be dominating the game, offering more pressure, getting in their box and creating chances on goal.

If you consistently can't do that in these situations, which we are, then it's a sign that the team just isn't good enough. 

Moore has had a really poor second half. Chasing shadows and at fault for a few Arg chances.

I thought this might not be a joke but a good idea. Just play the majority of the U20 squad from now to the world cup. If they lose every game 0-5  and go out in the first round at least there will be some hope for development. I think players like Whinham as a playmaker and Clegg up front and also Wisnewski in midfield would be much more positive. I would keep Bott and Esson make one of them captain. I would also keep Chance and bring in Katie Rood who is much more skillful on the ball than Wilkinson although does not have the physical presence so would also have Jale. That leaves 3 others for starting, Satchell has good speed so would prob retain her as well, so maybe just 2 other starters needed. We are currently losing at home to the world #29 and getting outshot 4-15 losing possession 40-60 and can't score. What is there to lose but more non-scoring losses?

I feel that perhaps some of our more agricultural tackling might get us in trouble with a lot of other refs.

We there's certainly a certain logic to that I can't argue with. At this rater we're not gonna win a game even with our "best" team. Maybe drop the seniors to let them know their performances aren't good enough.

Surely our true world ranking must be around the #40 mark currently with the likes of Chile and Taipei. Though after watching Paraguay(#50) vs Taipei (#39) I am not sure we would beat either of them.

Nope. Not funny. The Phoenix women have scored 8 goals in their last 2 games vs Football ferns two goals in their last 8 games. Your logic seems to be: The Phoenix women's team are bottom of the table so therefore none of the players must have any talent or be better than what is currently in the Ferns line up? That having these players in the Phoenix should mean that they are near the top of the league? We are not saying that the Ferns would become world beaters with these changes just that they would be able to complete 4 passes while in possession. Your implied rationale seems to be, lets keep the status quo and not try anything new.

Plus Hassett and Satchell of course! Well from where I'm sitting, many of the non phoenix players aren't exactly setting the world alight. Both teams desperately need someone with presence up front to get goals.

well, we were eliminated from the group stage in this mock world cup group, and the match against Argentina in North Harbour is just a consolation now.

I really hope the Ferns don't underestimate the Philippines either.

Bit harsh. She hasn't done a lot wrong for the Phoenix,or with the tiny chances she's had for the Ferns.

Hassett has definitely impressed me to be fair. I think she's improved for the Ferns since returning to the Nix.

Much better with 42% possession and 5 shots to their 17? At 1-0 down for most of the second half, and created bugger all apart from the very close offside goal. I thought Neville struggled quite a lot against Yamilla Rodriguez. 

Nayler handling was poor at times (in fact her failure to catch a very tame corner led to the next corner which they scored from), and was too slow for the first goal. Otherwise she was okay, made a few good saves. Still can't afford to have a GK that makes goal-resulting mistakes every game though.
