What is the range of ages going on tour?

Dammit I had another question but I forgot =(

I'm 22, would be surprised if anyone younger than me was going.

Mid 20's also.  Damn, wish I had a spare $8k at 22  Although I don't think that would have gotten me to Germany!

Roughly the same for me.

Plus $25 for a flu shot, which includes the swine vac.

I thought Smithy usually gave you jabs for free

Very good time to be buying rand.  I'm taking a combination of ZAR and $US, not sure how much though - maybe start with $2000NZD and see how that lasts.  But I'm there for a couple of weeks longer than most, and everyone's spending habits are different.

Meals look to be expensive over there too - a hostel I am staying at are charging 80-150r for meals - that's $15-$30NZD.  That's a hostel, not a hotel.

Basiclly, anything you've read about things being cheaper over there, any guides you have about prices - toss them out, and prepare to pay what it costs in NZ, if not more.

Anyone know if the buses are confirmed to take us to the other games that had generally been agreed upon?  The itinerary from Wayne I last got just had the old schedule about 'rest' days - hah!

Stuff overalls.  This is the unoffical tour party attire. Exlcudes wig, sunnies and red shirt.  At moment there is 9 of us getting these.

Think you need a couple of days to get a suit knocked up for you.

I got several delivered within 12 hours a couple of years back. Could be a goer, as we are there nearly 24 hours...

Hmm....May just get a couple of proper suits made up.

Get measured up on your way out, pick them up on your way back...

But in what sense is a flashy white suit not a 'proper' suit?

I think those white suits should be part of the official tour merchandise, like cruises where people get awful matching jackets.  We'd be like that only much, much more suave.

Just a heads up that it is a decent time to buy Rand at the moment. A saffa colleague of mine said it is likely to rise over the next few months as the World Cup approaches. You currently get 5.4 Rand for 1 NZ$. A local beer at a pub is about 5-6 Rand apparently

Its no longer a problem.

anyone know you can get a travel card with rand loaded on?

Travelex (cash passport) don't do Rand cards. I tried. Am going to get a Travelcard but it will just be at exchange rates at time of use.

I thought I'd share a few things with those of you lucky enough to be making the trip over.

For the Italian game:
"Chi sei"
"Stessi vecchi italiani, sempre barare"

For the Paraguay game:
"Quien eres"
"Paraguayos misma edad, siempre engaando"

And the Slovakia game:
"Kto jsi"
"Rovnak star Slovensko, vdycky podvdzanie"

Thanks to google translate! Might make some good chants/banners!

Been reading up on Hong Kong for the way there and back. I'm keen to head to the markets, especially Temple Street (electronics etc) and Ladies (all sorts of stuff) Markets. Might also head to Golden Shopping Arcade (computers and stuff).
