Yep, if you're successful, you get charged.  Not sure how they'd handle maxed-out credit cards!

I'm looking at the Ghana V Germany game, plus the round of 16 match in Durban on the 28th (1E - 2F, so in theory that will be Netherlands v NZ) and the two Quarter Finals in Johannesburg.  They are games 58 and 60, potentially Spain and England v others...

I'm keen for sun city, but not safari - i'm doing a tour to Nairobi after the WC which will cover it (and eat the rest of my money).

Suggestion - new thread for tickets to non-AW games?  I figure if you have extras other people on the tour will snap them up, i don't fancy getting single tickets, better to go for a couple and find someone else keen.

If you credit card is maxed out then your application gets cancelled.

Just replied to Wayne at Classic Travel. Keen on the 2 day safari plus the Ghana v Aussie game and the Sun City day out. What are other peoples plans?

Will give the safari a miss - the wildest animals in Kruger National Park will be the Yellow Fever tour members, and there'll be plenty of other opportunities to observe them in their natural habitat, i.e. close to a source of alcohol.

Have applied for Cat 1 tiickets for Ghana v. Australia (19th June, Rustenburg), Australia v. Serbia (Nelspruit, 23rd June) and Portugal v. Brazil (Durban, 25th June).

this thread is gathering some real momentum

I'm keen for the 2 games suggested, I have met Wayne today and he said transfers for the $710 will be included, which helps, at this stage I reluctantly stick with the 2 week tour rather than extending it, as for the application just give it a go, and see how it goes, apparently tickets are not transferrable, you must be the person who bought it, otherwise they won't allo entry, well that's if they check everyone, it's still a variable

I'm keen for Safari, it's one of those things you'll say to yourself when you're older and it's good for the travelling CV :)

they wont be checking (everyone). They always say these things but never happens. Imagine how slow a queue would be for a 40k stadium

As part of the World Cup build up I'm looking to head out to LA to see the Mexico Game, if anyone else is going to the game let me know.

Cheers,

Geoff

You have to pick them up with ID and the credit card with which they were purchased.  Once you have them I imagine you'll be fine.  Although you are meant to put in a Guest name - might be worth trying to coordinate some purchases so that we've got 'guest names' for everyone who is keen to go.  Makes it difficult for buying tickets now in teh hope that you can bring someone with you when you get to S.A...  (this is probably a discussion for the non-AWs ticket thread though).

I am definatly going on the Kruger trip. Thats a must see. Keen on doing something every day on the 'rest days', Are we planning on going to an All Whites training session at any time? It would be fun but we'd need to plan pencil it in to the plans.

Addicks, I'm confused as to whether I should keep my application on fifa.com for the NZ games for TST-3, as Wayne said he can get them for us, then it'll become duplicated? and if the ticket application is successful on fifa.com, will they deduct payment from our card immediately?

yes I'm keen for the guest name idea as I'm sure few of us would be keen to check out some non-NZ games

thanks and keep in touch, I've emailed Wayne and Terry, but Wayne is on leave so hopefully Terry can explain to me a bit clearer.

I'm not applying for the NZ games (the TST-3) myself - I'll leave it with the good folk at Classic Travel.  I'm sure they'll be able to get them - the tour would be a bit angsty otherwise  - and it means, hopefully, there'll be a single block of us together to get some noise going!

A bit of reassurance that we'll get tickets wouldn't go amiss though, but I assume they're going through the NZ PMA allocation, which isn't likely to exceed the 12% allocated.

The NZF email did have a couple of hundred email addresses though, which is a good sign (although BCC is the convention these days...)

i still haven't gotten round to sorting out my accommodation and tickets - can someone let me know the contact details for the bloke organising the tour?

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

My strategy is as per Addicks. Classic will procure for us. if somehow it went pear-shaped (which i highly doubt) then we can picket NZF until they solve our problem for us. Much better to be seated in a group.

has anybody applied for non AW game tickets via the FIFA website? we should coordinate re tickets to those games somehow.
I am keen to know what games other than the AWs games everyone is keen on too. I am definitely doing the Sun City tour, chance to hack holes in the Gary Player course or make my fortune in the casino. And they have a wildlife tour so no need to fork out big bucks for Kruger??

I agree, Wayne said to me in last meeting that he is pretty confident getting the tickets, so should be fine.

I already bought my NZ game tix (TST-4 cos I'm a foolhardy optimist ...) before the tour was announced; hope I can still sit with everyone else at the games ...

So did we. We're doing DIY tour due to all the travel we're cramming in, but would be keen to hook up with everyone else for the games, drinks etc.

yeah all good.
We should get concensus on what game people would prefer to apply for themselves (so we can decide where the bus will go) on the 19th and 23rd (couple of options)
