If you're so good big boy, how come you're not gracing their fields now? I guess coz you're probably not good enough to play in their second division...

If you can name me any Belgian teams other than Anderlecht, Club Brugges, Standard, Gent and Genk, I might - note the might - dignify you with another reply.

Be nice to make some noise, as Spoonley says it was a bit dead yesterday.

Do we have any Oly-Whites chants to dish out?

We'll come up with some... I'll have a think about some of the things we want to get flying this year at the Phoenix and see if we can re-work the tunes.

We're going to Beijing, We're going to Beijing, You're not, you're not.

I think something about Chile not only being a country but a vegetable and a term for cold...
I mean, if we can combine those three factors in to one chant...
Imagine that.

No, like Costa may need a year or two.  He was very impressive against the Phoenix when he came on the other week.  He's at Wests while in U-20 camps.

Interestingly the WC U20 side from last year (and this Olympic team) seemed a very pragmatic team, big across the park, fairly no nonsense defensively, while the U17 team contained a load of very skillful players, technically very good but looked like men against boys at the WC.  Perhaps a mix of the two year groups in say, 3-5 years, could make for a good all whites team.

These guys are some of the first who have been right through the NZF programme, have had exposure to international football over a number of years, some guys in overseas academies.

Thoughts??

if we are patient the kids coming through from about 2003-2004 are all pretty good prospects, as has been mentioned they have had alot of international exposure, run through national academies and more recently being involved if not playing at nzfc level.

Having looked out the window. Having been asked "are you still going?"....   one question comes to mind....  anyone know how to treat hypothermia???    dairyflat2008-07-04 16:34:03
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

It may be a bit heavy handed but if anyone decides to not come out and support the boys and have a good chant because of the weather I'll be pissed. Wear a coat FFS.

Wouldn't think so.  I spoke to the 4th official not long ago, he never mentioned any chance of a cancellation.  It couldn't be in worse nick than newtown was by the end of Wedneday anyway.

Any one thinking of piking - Harden. The. f**k. Up. Hard News2008-07-04 16:53:13

I would think they'd have announced it by now if it was going to be and it'd have to be in incredibly poor condition to be cancelled after what they played on at NP.

Exactly, I've missed the match-day antics of YF and sitting and doing nothing during the game on Wednesday was doing my head in. People. There. Tonight. Bring your voices.

Don't think I'm going to be 'allowed' top make this one. Curse my impending nuptials, the planning they take, and the way they get in the way of my footbal viewing pleasure.
