Reid.  Still haven't seen/heard any other media pick this story up...

Was an exclusive interview by tv3 so don't know if that affects other media reporting on it?

But will there be room for both Smith and Reid at the back in the starting side?

Reid
Smith
Neilsen
Lochead
Sigmund
Vitelich

two will miss out if we play 4 at the back... or will one move into the midfield?

Good Headache to have.

smith has been playing LB for Brentford recently (at times), so maybe lochy has some pressure on him there.

one injury is almost guaranteed.

I'd have Siggy or Vicelich over Smith for now. prefer Smith to be putting pressure on Lochy.

Dunno. . . . Andrew Gourdie, Ricki Herbert, the yellow fever/white noise statements on these forums. His first passion for football in NZ that started him would be a close thought. He realise that his Ma and her NZ family is awesome. He has been keeping a big eye on the AWs and knows that we have a vacant RB and thought, "what the heck?! it's my destiny"

Football player Winston Reid from FC Midtjylland throws his Danish passport in the trash and put up in the future for New Zealand.

That is partly the prospect of space on the New Zealand World Cup team this summer, having received the 21 year old central defender to change his nationality:

- It's a personal decision, but a World Cup Palden is obviously good for my career, "he tells BT.

Winston Reid have both Danish and New Zealand citizenship and has played 10 matches for the Danish U-21 national team.

The Danish fans must not be too happy...Imagine if a Danish player came to NZ, was a huge prospect, lived here for 11 years, declared himself ready to play for NZ atfer playing at age group level/using our coaching system then at the 23rd hour changed his mind? We'd be pissed.

Think that Winston Reid belongs in an All White shirt, though, so i'm glad.

btw Marius, wish I could read Danish - be interesting to see their view on it...

Is there any other person like McGlinchey/Smith/Fallon/Reid who we can get or are going after?

Isn't it great, we got 4 from 4!

Amazing what the draw of playing at a world cup has done for us. Can't imagine these guys would have been too interested if we were looking at playing Tahiti again....

Who cares if they are coming out for the world cup? the more quality we have the better chance we have of doing something.. and in the future more chance of getting to World Cups.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

Don't think he was complaining SB.  I'm just glad we are starting to get some depth at most positions (except CM).

Holy smoke, is this for real?  Nuno Miguel Prata Coelho,
signed with Porto (UEFA cup winners), tried to loan him to Villarreal (THE VILLARREAL - Spanish superstar club), midfielder.  Four appearances for Portuguese U21.
Five years as a professional, must be extremely fit.

Must speak to my Portuguese mates on how to sign him for the All Whites.
