C'mon you Engerland, didn't see the game against Japan but heard the result, did they look convincing or was it another English fluke?
You know we belong together...

I reckon N.Korea and Germany. Though Korea v England will be close.

Hmmm well they scored a 40 yard shot in the 89th minute to draw the match after being reasonably outclassed all game.

Penalty shootouts don't really ever result in a "convincing" win.

They were much better than in their last couple of games, but Japan threatened a rout early on.

But good on England for resolute defending, and then breaking out with two brilliiant goals - one in the last minute of each half.

Bollocks to that,

an England Vs Germany final to continue a long standing tradition of fine competitive moments (erm, well, only counting '66, Munich and Escape to Victory).

Im picking an England V USA final just because no-one else is.

Its no longer a problem.

I'm hoping for the last 2 games to be England vs Germany and North Korea vs USA - don't care which is the final, but there would be much more than just a couple of football games at stake.

Disappointed the USA went through to the last 4, as I was hoping for a North Korea vs South Korea final.

korea v Germany final, clearly the two best attacking teams on in the tourney, England have been lucky to get this far - scaped past Jsapan and the US aren't really that good, Germany should smoke them.

should be a good crowd, korean community & poms should turn out in force. Suggest England will have most support from the locals, for other game I think the crowd wil be cheering for germany more than the US, Germany a far prettier team and have been the form team of teh tournamemnt. I just find it difficult to cheer on the usa. Maybe the crowd will support them more after Obama mmmm maybe not. Be there.

Is Sepp in town?

Gourdie in his blog said Sepp wasn't coming? Any idea on what kind of crowd they are expecting for the final? If the Poms make it the expat turnout should be massive i would have thought. Similar for Korea. I would think 10,000 minimum, 15,000 would be excellent

a Germany V England final would be great - good football rivalry, well good rivalry fullstop.
You would hope of a crowd of at least 15,000 for the final.

The NZ team had crowds of over 10,000 + for their 2 games at Nth Harbour so you would hope taht those people turn up again.

The boys final in 1999 sold out didnt it or had 20,000 people attend.

There were 12 or 13k for the Ghana vs Brazil semi.  I was at that, never made the final, clash with some other event.  Watched it on telly though and from memory the crowd was 22 or 23k which is pretty much capacity at NHS.

Korea V USA final.

USA to win the comp.

Would people please stop referring to North Korea as 'Korea'.  Only the South get that honour, for whatever reason I don't know.  The North (DPRK) is famous for its censorship, human rights offenses, and prison camps.  So really nothing to cheer on.

Oh, and there won't be many 'Koreans' cheering on the team in the semis, the North aren't allowed out of the country, and the South bloody well hate them.

That's your history lesson for today folks.

You mean like how there were no Koreans cheering them on in the quarterfinals?

The North Koreans had far less support than the South Koreas did (and far smaller flags), but they still had some. More than I expected.

Highlight of the game was the English person who turned around around and told me to "Shirt the fork up and stoop offendun purple" 15 minutes from the end cause I started chanting "Same old pommies, always cheating" after England fouled someone Gangsta!2008-11-14 02:30:55
