Terrible stuff from the U17s.  Their selfish play has seriously undermined the "One Shot for Glory", making it seem as though there's more than just the senior All Whites' historic qualification attempt going on for New Zealand football.

Thats great news.  Cain was interviewed on radio live and was asked who he would like to play, and he said he would love Nigeria, not because it was and easy game, but he thought the kids would love the atmosphere of playing the hosts in from of 30-40,000 people.  I thought that was a great attitude, and am happy that he got his wish!

Nigerian Police force on high alert?

Anyone from out of town staying Sunday night after the All Whites game like we are doing?

See you at Four Kings at 7am Monday morning to watch the Juniors rematch against Turkey in the Cup Final?

A fair bit more than I expected.

It was in all three main sports news yesterday (Prime, TV1, TV3) and was headline news on National Radio i believe. Also columns on Herald and Stuff websites.

Can't complain tbh.

Three for me, and two for them.

Gotta love how the commentator kept referring to Coey Turipa as Joey Toopia.

Unfortunately, i think this is where the teams run will finish. Nigeria won the group of death and are one of the hot favourites.

Hopefully the boys will do what they have done all tournament though, defend well and take the limited chances that come there way.

I think apart from defending well we will need to exploit the fact that they are in front of their home crowd playing a team that they should beat easily.

if we can keep them 0-0 till midway thru second half we will have a chance to pinch it.

Would it not have been just as easy to check the EPG to start with?

I gave them all a real dressing down on Monday because at the end of the day were not here to make up the numbers, were here to win the tournament, Cain said.

Would it not have been just as easy to check the EPG to start with?

No, because when I was checking it out early in the week, the EPG was reporting the programme that was previously planned (see Skywatch (Cycling Tour of Southland)), since coverageof the U17's had not yet been contemplated. Sky's comment about checking the EPG was acknowledging that it needed to be updated since they had got the game! OrangeKiwi2009-11-05 23:43:13

It has been reported that they are expecting a crowd of around 60,000, which will be an amazing experience for the Junior All Whites. It is obviously going to a huge challenge, but you never know ...

Good luck to the lads!

Don't give Cain to the All Blacks as I am looking forward to seeing the highly disorganised, dysfunctional, arrogant institution of All Blacks implode in the 2011 World Cup..........which as a result will see more kids turning to Football.

Nigeria looking strong, but following the tendencies of other teams we've played:  Go forward, spray shots as soon as possible.  5 mins in and they've had a corner, one on target and three off.  No real ball for NZ.

We are giving the ball away way too easily

Yup, one goal down.  We won a corner though, occasional good counter from NZ and Nigeria pretty quick to foul whenever we do get ball and space.
