Feverish is right... $20 max and a tenner for the squids, gerrys and academics... will mean we get a sell out and create some (much needed) excitement for the game (and the Nix will get the rub-off too) so everyone (well, almost) wins.... except for LG (the food will be just as sh!te but the queues will be massive sorry mate).

Mmmm. . . . still tricky pricing the tickets.

$20 per Adult and $10 for Kids

or $30 per Adult and free for Kids?

Not that I am a pricing expert but it will still be a sellout wouldn't it?

If they present at least two tickets options, the tickets will sell. At least the crowds think that have a choice on the type of tickets they could get.

What are the usual casual prices for the Nix games this season coming?AllWhitebelievr2009-06-26 14:00:24

Can someone explain why wellington people were so keen to get the games?, You have the worst football stadium (round) and seriously its a one in 25 years game who cares where it was, i would expect everyone on here to travel to ends of the earth to see this game. Just wondering about this really.

I really didnt care as either way i was travelling up from chch but would have thought being right up against the pitch at a football venue we could have created a much more daunting atmosphere.

Anyway its done and ill be there, the key is now to come up with the best way of making it a nightmare for the opposition. It will take more than a few yellow fever songs, Which will not hurt btw.

It was an easy choice to change my flight so I could attend this match...

I want Australia to play New Zealand in the World Cup.

He has a point, although worst is a big call seeing as he comes from the city with a running track around one stadium and a half-arsed cricket ground for the other.

Rectangle stadium > Oval stadium but Well Stadium location >>>> North Harbour Stadium location.  Hamilton isn't quite so clear cut.

let's imagine the reaction if they'd announced ...

"after much consideration we've awarded the game to Hamilton on the basis of its rectangular field"

Hamilton has the best stadium in the country for Football/Rugby in terms of the fact it is purpose built, Hamilton is also quickly developing a reputation for doing events very well. Its also a central city stadium, accessible easily from Auckland and Wellington as well as being a main trunk line which makes flights easy.
To me Wellington was the sensible choice but I think there were very good arguments for Hamilton, Auckland not so much and ChCh even less so it was with surprise that I saw it came down to Auckland, Wgtn and Chch.
I don't know what the plans are that the Fever have been developing around this game but I think this thing needs some serious planning, need to make sure everyone knows the songs going into the game (I hate to say it but either a mid week meet up or song sheets, well at least at the pub prior, are necessary) We only get one chance at this game, its not like we can slowly work our way into the season. Though we will be in the midst of a Nix season so we should be developing some good rhythm as it were

I took the kids to the San Siro to watch Inter play Siena in May. We were in the top of the stand behind the goals and you are miles from the pitch and need binoculars, but in terms of atmosphere I've never seen anything like it.

The stadium might be round but the viewing is exceptional and the atmosphere created can be amazing. A full crowd and whoevr we're up against will know the AW's have got the crowd behind them.

Shut up Gold Coast fan.

See News the thing you have to learn about Bigtobz is that when he speaks he only speaks with any semblance of logic/truth/seriousness about 5% of the time, thus him comments about my support for Gold Coast may have been misplaced, though if they go unbeaten through the first six weeks I will certainly consider jumping on the bandwagon

Word is there'll be "early-bird" prices for those who buy tickets before a certain date.

That's a good concept Piney but they need to tread very carefully on what that price point is.

feverish, why worst post ever mate? Just a lil defensive maybe?

If we're talking about all the stadiums in new zealand then yeah QE2 is miles worse than Wellington. But see i dont mind travelling out of chch to see this game, i wouldnt want it played at QE2 and id say AMI is too big. I was more meaning its was the worst out of the three in contention.

I went to quite a few Victory games at the telstra dome last year and Despite Melb having quality fans most of the atmosphere was lost in the wide expanses of a round stadium. Victory fans hated it and cant wait for their new stadium.

well i couldnt be bothered putting a long winded response.
basically you dont decide the location based on field size. Like they stated - a lot of the team call Wgtn home. They play their football here and it would suit them.
And the Ring of Fire is a great stadium ,and doers have a good atmoshere. Just ask the Phoenix players, or any of the Fever Zone.
You're right - Telstra is crap for viewing - but we had a great time while there - and the atmosphere is great - which is your whole point in'it?

Fair enough then.

They will need to get the price balance right. With regards premier international sporting events these days, you would be lucky to get tickets to most of them for below 40-50, NZF need to make a clear decision that the best thing for the team is to have a massive crowd behind them making noise rather than a national federation with a bit more money in the bank because they sold 15,000 tickets at 60bucks a pop

Fair enough if thats what you reckon. I felt that at telstra dome atmoshere was cracking if you were in amongst the northern or southern ends but if you were somewhere else i felt disconnetcted with the atmosphere and the game.

Anyway I was just wondering if there was feeling that wellington was gueuinely better for our chances or that some people just dont fancy travelling to see this game.

Also just a small point, there is no denying that the atmosphere is great in the fever zone but is it intimidating for the opposition out on the field?  like say a melbourne game at olympic park? Im just asking what you think, not saying its not. I think the yellow fever is the best thing thats happened to football here btw so dont go getting all defensive anyone

Olympic Park has a running track and no roof over some areas.  It's QEII in disguise.

Responses from visiting players and Phoenix players have indicated that you can generate some decent noise at the stadium.

The point you make Thinker is a fair one, you can have all the noise you like but it might get lost a bit in a stadium like Westpac but put that level of noise in a rectangular stadium and that noise suddenly becomes intimidating

Fair call about olympic park, i saw the storm there wasnt really that great, was just trying to think of something off the top of my head. I think you got my point tho and answered my question.

Dont get too hung up on QE2, Most ppl in CHCH agree that it is joke of a stadium.

Well I can't wait when Dunedin Stadium is built. I think that crowd sound effects will be great at some of the sporting events including soccer if they get a few matches.

mate, Wellington was best choice.

the atmosphere is brilliant for a NZ football match.

did you see the AW vs some island country in Auckland ?????

YOU COULD HAVE HEARD A F*****G PIN DROP !!!!

most quietest football 'supporters' EVER !!

AND EVEN THE BECKHAM GAME !!!!

the crowd is f*****G pathetic.

whooooo... wrong.  Auckland have decent vocal support, not always in numbers but high quality.  Hopefully that will be here with the Fever to make it one HUGE White Noise lovefest.

Ha, you sound like a Wellington HappyTed.

I've said all along that it doesn''t matter where it is, it's important that everyone travels for it.  Now it's here to make this the best game possible we need the people who have supported the All Whites anywhere for the last twenty years to get on the White Noise Bang Bus and get in to it.

I don't have it yet, just looking likely.  And I need the money.

Having said that, if it was anyone else then I'd have told them to quit so yeah.
