I'll be wearing a white Bayern Munich away kit, along with a black NZ scarf and a big NZ flag draped across my shoulders.

It's not quite an all whites jersey, but it's all white so it will have to do :)

Yoohoo Phil in London ...

iginally posted by phil_style

I have just emailed this letter to the editor of the Dom-Post:

Dear Sir,

I will be watching the All Whites take on Bahrain on November 14th from my home in London. If I see any New Zealanders not wearing white shirts at the ground I will be very disappointed, and perhaps even moved to renounce my New Zealand citizenship.

Kind Regards

Fantastic letter in today's Dom Post, with photo even! Well done ...

Been in contact with Ryos this morning, and they have larger size White Noise shirts arriving next week for those of us who are more "generously proportioned"

Yeah good letter. Now we need some sort of 'fake' injury scare to either Smeltz or Nelson, and the Media will get all over it. Only 9 days to go!! And hopefully provide them witha chance to mention the White Out.

NZF sponsor a Big add in the Dom Post  calling for a white out maybe, or is this just a WN thing?

All Aboard the Phoenix/ All Whites Bandwagon!!

The Know Wellington email always gives a mention to the Nix, and they're behind the white-out too (if you can't read the last word, it's because the newsletter has a coloured background...  Try selecting the text):

"Speaking of the football - we're so excited about the All Whites v Bahrain game on 14 November! We've just heard that more tickets are going on sale tomorrow (Friday) morning at 9am, so get in quick as they will sell out fast. If you are one of the lucky people heading to the game make sure you show your support and wear white! "

I have ended up with 2 All White Home jerseys (long story) so if anyone is interested in buying one under RRP then please let me know before I return one of them to the store.

I'll take $75 which is the price paid (Rebel Sport sale) plus $5 for overnight courier anywhere in NZ.

Size is "Large".

If no interest in the next couple of days the shirt will be returned to the store.

PM me if interested. Thanks.

If you wear your Spurs shirt you'll probably be beaten up by the gooners.

If you take it off @ 80 you'll probably get beaten up by fellow Yiddos.

I wouldn't be worried about that, I'm more worried about turning purple with frost bite.
Still, had a hard time finding a white top yesterday until someone pointed me in the direction of a second hand shop. Loads of footie tops of all descriptions.

I think that if pple dont wear white...then wear black. because its the all whites alternative colour too. Watching the Saudi V bahrain game most wore white, but there were some that wore there teams alternative strip (Green). darkhorse2009-11-08 11:08:52

If people won't heed the call to wear white......why would they then heed the call to wear black if they aren't wearing white?

Permalink Permalink

Two options I guess..not everone may want to wear white. So its an alternative.

If anyone in my group of 12 is not wearing white they will be denied entry into the stadium.

not really, all i said was if ppl dont wish to wear white then the alternative would be to wear black. I never said i wasnt going to wear white. Maybe you should pay more attention to what you read! The all whites have 2 strips. I'm no snob. lol... darkhorse2009-11-08 12:57:41

I gave up a place in the D. Lounge to be with the real supporters yelling in the bowl :p

Have you been to the Lounge before? I don't know if I will come to regret not being there as the opportunity may not come up again.

Then again the chance to yell New Zealand into the World Cup...

Oh so now ppl or member that have access to the D lounge arent real supporters? Now thats negative. I support all sports that kiwi's play in and includes football. I won't regret watching from the D lounge because I will still support the AW just as I do other kiwi sports teams.

Anyone accompanying a member into the lounge using a guest pass (limited number available I presume) are required to have a valid entry ticket to the stadium, which may be where you are getting confused.

In this case you would buy a $29 ticket and then go to the lounge instead, so yes there may be a number of empty seats in the $29 regions.

I also thought that this might lead to an under-capacity stadium (grabbing whatever seats might be available), but I presume there are also some other restrictions on crowd capacity.
