Get facts straight Da Boss.  Olympic pulled their money out long after the training squad (without George) was named.

And people should remember that there was an almost universal call to get rid of Mick Waitt exactly because he played lots of locals and kids and for some reason everyone thought that "wasn't competitive".

Wonder if anyone's prepared to own up to being part of that crowd and being wrong?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Fact Number 1 : Current TW coach did approach some OLY players and was turned down by them.
Fact number 2 : YHM did approached players a lot sooner that TW did.
Fact number 3: Imported players in TW were secured a few months ago...therefore the emphasis was not on the local talent rather than on "potential" starts from outside WN
Fact Number 4 : OLY had nothing to do with Mick Waitt's fortunes.
Fact number 5: TW discussed this with OLY on Sept 30th ...well AFTER the training squad was announced....!!!!

Hope it sets the record straight.

Fact 8. Olympic were a foundation member club of TW but haven't paid any money for a while. Therefore they are not a member club. Therefore their players are not entiltled to play for TW.

Fact 9. Nevertheless, Raf was wanted by TW but they couldn't agree terms. Read into that what you will.

Fact 10. George B is a quality player, maybe even better than his bro. But if he really wanted to play NZFC he could do what a lot of guys who were unwanted by TW have done in the past and gone up to Palmie. Trent, Dicey and Dom all did it, Jimmy H is having a go and they have all come back down and kicked sand in TW's face. Why doesn't George do that? And 1 more question for 'Da Boss', why did the TW players turn down TW in that meeting you referred to?

Fact 11:  Who is coach of TW these days?

Fact 12:  Fact 11 is not a fact.

Fact 13:  I have a strange rash developing on both my innner thighs.

Fact 14:  Rafa doesn't have a clue.

Smithy - Team Welly has been significantly more succesful though since Mick left, and I think it's instructive that some of the young guys that he showed a lot of faith in haven't exactly gone on to tear things up.

just trying to think of what young guys they had. Dan Keat. He's apparently playing well. Henderson has done alright.

yeah yeah.  the issue was though that old mick had lost the trust of the senior guys

anyway, I have been thinking for ages, and this is a completely unformed idea that may not work in practice, but perhaps there should be a scale of reward that comes from Team Wellington to the clubs for every player that they supply.  I.e giving the clubs motivation to produce players for Team Welly, I dunno could be straight cash, could be reduction on membership fee, call it a loan fee I dunno.

Anyone think this is an idea that could work?  I do think it's a bit rubbish that local club players can't play for Team Welly because their club isn't a member club but players from outside the region can play (if that is the case).  I mean surely their clubs aren't member clubs?

Well finally something that we can agree on. GB is a quality player and YES he has gone out the area to play ...in fact he is now with Hawkes Bay United for the NZFC.
Now as for your question /statement/ blurb... it doesn't make sense...please resubmit ...!!!!
