And that kit though... That is sexy. Much better than the WMPL kit the ladies wear.

I think Tasman will do quite well this season, top 5 somewhere.

I'm still not seeing enough ASBP experience. We're are signing a whole lot of Nelson-linked players from ASBP, MPL and elsewhere, and now we have Iffy, but I want to see some players from ASBP rivals. Hopeful that will become easier now we have Iffil.

Next targets must be Mike White, Sam Mason-Smith and Billy Scott (SMS and Billy are mates, they live together, along with Saul Halpin...) right? I know from the man himself that Ben Harris isn't likely to come back but signing Ifill must show that A) we're happy to spend some money and B) We're aiming to be a competitive team worth joining in the very near future.

Swaney, Turipa, Johnston, Skippy and Ifill is a very solid backbone. A couple more proven players would be nice though.

Decent signing. Was a very good player before he went to the States but I haven't seen him play since. Definitely a promising signing though!

He certainly has the ability to shine in this league, but will also make a huge difference for the TU team adding a lot of quality but more importantly, desire to succeed. After reading that article it seems as though he is using it as a stepping stone so he will be out there to show what he's got and prove people of his ability.

Will we be signing anymore players soon?

First team squad is currently 12 players, so you'd expect so.

According to wikipedia, squad at the moment is:

Coey, Daniel Allan, Mark Johnston, Labu Pan, Bertie Fish, Ifill, David Maisey, Skippy, Matt Tod-Smith, Sam Ayers, Jordan Swaney and Alex Risdale.

You can probably make a reasonably competitive XI out of that to be honest, but definitely more to come. I'd keep an eye out for current ASB Prem players who have played in Nelson in the past coming home if I were you.

Don't trust wikipedia. Especially since I wrote most of that page.

As for transfers, I expect some Bay/Rapa players to follow Ifill.

should be interesting if a few players follow Ifill! That would be handy. Some players of overseas would be a good addition to the squad

On the face off it, that looks like a coup - not just for Tasman, but for the NZFC

So, after reading this article on Stephen Hoyle and his signing for Dragons, it mentions that younger brother James is a target for Tasman, Wanderers (of the Hamilton kind) and the Bay. Does anyone here know how that is going? Is he likely to sign? Is he any good?

While we're here, any other transfer rumours?

is the Nike academy much to write home about? I know Tom Rogic went to Celtic wasn't it afterwards. Just thinking of Myer Bevan given the fortunes of the Tasman Utd recruit..

Hajdari played the last six month in the swedish fifth division. 11 matches, 0 goals.

Before he played in Estonia, one of the worst divisions in Europe. In UEFA the league is place 43 out of 54 leagues in Europe.

Doesnt look like a perfect addition to the squad or a star player.

No top class player is going to come to a semi-professional league in New fudgeing Zealand. There's always going to be question marks about imports because we're never going to have heard of anyone who wants to play at this level, but he has obviously demonstrated talent in the past and I'm excited to see him get on the pitch.

Tasman has a decent history of pulling players from Europe to NZ and having them succeed - Ben Harris and Sam Mason-Smith the most obvious 2 I can think of.

Maybe he has been informed this is a window to get into the A-League (rightly or wrongly) ,maybe he believes NZ is part of Australia

He said he wanted to use this chance to get back to pro football, but the A-League is not going to be a chance in the near future. Even if he top-scores in the league, no club would spend an import slot on an Premiership striker.

I am sufficiently awake to identify that Hamish Watson is not an import for the Nix.
