If you'd thought to check www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/Scoreboard, you'd have found both results plus NZ team goalscorers were posted by 8.35pm, i.e. within minutes of the result of the later kick-off coming through.

Oo er, sounds good.
I was hoping the OFC would have live text. http://www.oceaniafootball.com/ofc/News/ViewArticle/tabid/125/Article/69ca2262-4a7d-4cea-8612-72955bdaa59b/language/en-US/Default.aspx

No chance with the French-speaking nations at present, maestro.

OFC are working their way around the other island nations, establishing websites, etc., but Tahiti and New Caledonia are a different kettle of fish entirely. Getting info out of them is akin to extracting teeth from a hen!!

Cellphone contact with well-placed sources was the only way of gathering the info on a timely basis last night.

Cheers,

Ivan Vicelich is back for AkCity on Saturday at 2 against Young Heart Manawatu at Kiwitea Street, Sandringham.  It's his first appearance since the World Cup in S.A.
Welcome back Jason Hayne, now playing for his 'home town' Manawatu.

Nice to see ACFC  get a result against Manawatu, although I doubt they are breathing any sighs of relief just yet down at Kiwitea Street, especially given their 'off field' troubles.

Nah, best getting these things out in the open, News. The public needs to know.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

does kiwitea st have much cover for a rainy day?

Yes. They have a fairly decent covered stand. Corrugated iron roof so you hear the rain fairly loud.

Three for me, and two for them.

The African champs TP Mazembe, the team we beat last year in the FIFA Club World Cup are into this year's finals.  Let's see how they do against Inter Milan.
Our reps Heraki, were knocked over 3-0 at the first hurdle.

Does this mean ACFC is now at the very least the second best club team in the world?

Not champions cos they don't get the trophy, but at least the best team in the world!

Being a champion is a state of mind, you don't need trophies to prove it...

Inter Milan up 2-0 after 17 minutes.
Classic case of not clearing when under overwhelming attack.

Still 2-0 HT. Inter were responsible for a couple of fouls, not sure how they avoided a red card. Unfortunately Mazembe responded in kind.
First goal was great passing, the second, just poor clearing.
TP put pressure on in the last 10.
Suspect Mazembe will get one back.edward l2010-12-19 06:59:56

85' 3-0. Big question mark on off side.

5-0 and couldve been more. The league needs a shake up. Manawatu were awful and Hawkes Bay were on same level, they had players that wouldnt even get a run at top winter clubs in Auckland. People are saying City are hitting their straps, i think they need to be tested again before we start saying they are title contenders.

Get realistic and get the best players in the country playing. Hawkes Bay and Manawatu certainly dont have enough depth, and Otago are not great either. Get another Auckland team in. Maybe let some teams combine thier best players. I dont know but football should be of a higher standard in the country. Whether anyone in this country cares or will sort it out is another story.

Your statement reeks of stupidity considering you are proclaiming Waikato FC should pick locals and see how they get on - they are a 3rd Auckland team or at least thats what you keep preaching

Hang on Jeff, the structure isnt going to change this season, so why not give the waikato players a go in their own team, may aswell find out what they are like, with the structure as it is for this league at the moment. I wouldnt say that they would be the third Auckland team out there anyway, much better players either on the bench at Auckland clubs or not even playing summer football.

This debate should possibly be in another thread.

The players that aren't playing are the same ones that aren't playing because the gaming machine money isn't going to their back pocket, not for any other reason than that.

The league is better off without those players than having to watch the likes of Raf, Mulrooney, van Steeden etc pimp themselves out for the next paycheck.

Paul Seaman is a perfect case in point. Please advise me what paying an out of shape near 35 year old slow bulky centre midfielder adds to Otago United. You can write the benefits on the back of a postage stamp other than 'provides veteran experience for the kids' and even then, he is not training with them so how is he even giving them that?

what happened in round 6 earlier in the season? a one off sh*t performance doesnt mean anything. also, those 7 or 8 acfc fans are quite insecure with regards to the phoenix arent they. mulligan wasnt too kiwi,he was too sh*t

You couldnt even beat City with 9 men at home, so that again is a shiity performance. So if they had 11 on the field that day it would more than likely been 5 there too as City by all reports were cruising.  Mulligan was different class when he came off the bench on the weekend, this Xmas break is what he needs to get over niggles.

That Smith lad is wasting his time playing with a bunch of indoor players. To be fair Millwall id back you to win a fotsul competition, but mate get serious about the real stuff.

A solid 2 nil win over Wgtn.
Wgtn didn't really get going.
Was a bit worried by the space between the back two for ACFC.  Tactically they are supposed to roam within helping distance of each other.

Now waiting for the million dollar match, where ACFC go three point clear of Waitakere in the O League and make it to the FIFA Club World Cup again.  But first, it's a humid trip  to Magenta.
