?? People were pretty well behaved today.  I could hear some razzing of the ACFC coach over on west side where the visitors ususlly sit, but didn't hear anything else.

Just repeating what was said by someone else.

You called one person in particular a name. That is verbal abuse. So your post was hidden.

You didnt answer the question?

So verbal abuse is not acceptable but slander is?

I don't control what people write on twitter. But I am a mod of what is written here.

If you want to write clearly your opinion about the incident without insulting or abusing someone, go for it.  Continue not too, and you can take a time out.

Again didnt answer the question

You dont control what people write on twitter of course but still you post it on this site

clearly trying to provoke a reaction or else why post it?

Funny how the other poster who commented directly on the incident had his post removed though??

OK so you've removed my second post 2ndBest.

I'll state again as you're the one promoting the racist slant by Temple.

Calling out to David White from the sidelines (not by me) he's a monkey......... isn't racist.

Maybe because someone at the game might have more information about it. And hopefully they are intelligent enough to wrote a coherent response.

Only other post that was hidden included abuse as well.

Interesting.  What you deleted contained what was apparently said.  And its kind of obvious it wasn't racist.

And the person you banned put enough asterisks in to lower the severity.

Proof you should have been there before promoting this racist rubbish.

Or maybe just treat the post with the contempt it deserves!

I guess you would react in a different way if yourself or fellow supporters were accused of the same thing then?

Permalink Permalink

I'm not taking side (I've barely heard anything concrete from either side), but the term 'monkey' has a particular significance for football games. So if it wasn't meant to be racist, probably not the greatest choice of insulting word.

Guess the context matters. While it may have been directed at one person, if another person of darker complexion was close by, then I could see why people might put 2 and 2 together.

I've heard a couple of racist and homophobic things in the fever zone, and I'm more than happy to tell them where to go.

They were removed because they contained verbal abuse. It's pretty simple to respond to those accusations without resorting to abuse.

Guess it comes down to if you consider C*ck and Knobhead to be abuse?
And how you tell someone "where to go"
Personally I think falsely accusing people and a club of rascism is far worse than that
But how can you take seriously a tweet from guy who lost the NZU17 girls coaching job because of his excessive procative tweets before the Trinidad tournament a few years ago??

Disappointing 2ndBest you are happy to leave and therefore promote PT's racist accusations on here but remove counter postings.

So here are a couple of facts.....

David White and Paul Temple are former employees of Kiwitea St (as are a good number of other Waitakere personal at today's game) ........need I state more?

David White has ALWAYS been Paul Marshall's assistant. Organ grinder.......monkey.

So let's move on to Paul Temple's thoughts on the season ending broken collarbone injury to Gustavo Souto by Tim Myers.

Ok..so using that logic I'm promoting   every post or quote on this forum. Think you are over reacting.

The difference is that you copied what someone had written on twitter and put it up here which is incredibly inflammatory and not too smart considering you didn't know the context of the comments. You must have realised that this would get some serious reaction here  and given that you are a mod that's not a clever thing to do.

So is it better to discuss it here or wait until the media use Twitter as a source which they do regularly?

This is a forum for discussing New Zealand Football issues, and that is a tweet from a very public online person about the game in New Zealand.  Absolutely it should be posted and discussed here.

2ndBest didn't send the tweet.

Maybe I'm ignorant, but I've never heard that saying before.

Regardless of who it was directed at, it's a pretty stupid thing to say at a football match, when the opposition contains another of darker skinned players.

Anyway, to get back to the football, it's all to play for in the Islands next week. Some weekend brewing.

Regarding ACFC's loss to Waitakerie, the loss of Souto was crucial. ACFC have lost rather too many strikers in the recent past for comfort - first Corrales, then Tade, then Darren White, now Souto. It's telling they had to bring on David Browne, aged 16/17? for such a vital match. Though some posters on this site resent ACFC 'nobbling' players from other teams, they're now looking distinctly threadbare up front. Who and how they'll play in Tahiti will be very interesting.

That's a whole lot trickier.

Especially with 3 strikers out crocked.
