I wonder what's changed to make Roy agree to extend his contract. Gotta be something otherwise I don't see why he'd change his mind suddenly.

Probably a 1 year with automatic extension...

jeez you lot give Roy a break. I doubt that anyone here knows the facts about the injury. Even if there is a dodgy element to it all, he's got to do what's best for him. To hell with all this 'loyalty to the club'/'the fans deserve more' crap - if you want loyalty get a bloody dog.

Im delighted he's signed for another year - suits the Phoenix and it still leaves open some albeit limited possibility for him to move on to a higher level.

Might have a release clause in the new deal that allows him to be purchased by overseas clubs.

Great news either way. Thought he was goooone.

Reckon Darije is also gone.

Pretty sure both WelNix and Roy would have made sure there was one in his old deal.

hmm. Happy, but.

Needs to have a blinder of a season and a half.

Hope Valeo is wrong.

Can we pick up from where we left off on our mini run?

Nope.  Ship has sailed.  Too many donkeys.

Flush the dunny, move on to next season.

Better have a plumber standing by. That dunny could well get blocked

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Club fronting up with more $$, better than the automatic contract extension.

I knew it was coming when I saw Roy buying a 80" OLED TV last Sunday. ;-)

Oh man, if he'd chucked his old TV on Vic Deals he would have thrown us all well off the scent.

Thought about it and I now think:

KRISHNA'S ON FIRE!

Hope we insisted on a medical.

Roy does not need a doctor, Krishna tells you if he is injured.

Very happy he’s extended his stay with us, even after a very trying season so far.

I guess the question now is, will he be playing on Saturday?

This gives us some hope with our forward players for next year. Let's hope the large number of misfits coming off contract are replaced and we can move forward. The coach has somehow to prove he can coach over our next few games, and the jury is still out on that one.

stoked this mess is over! just sad that the uncertainty has left a black mark on his nix career.

His recent absence probably killed any lingering hopes for the finals but I guess I'll look forward to next year.

It's just a couple of weeks worth of a blip in a long, strong career at the Nix.

It's fantastic that Krishna has re-signed and I look forward to him burning up the Ring of Fire this year ...

awesome stuff. Don't quite understand just the one year at this stage of his career but I guess we will figure out the reason later

1yr to match current contracts and to give the coach a chance to rebuild the squad and keep the nix in the league?

actually didn’t think this would end well. Very surprised.

Yeah it feels like a compromise between the parties. Nix had him an extra year if the extension clause was triggered anyway, but Krishna felt he deserved more money.

So maybe to get over the stand off caused by the clause, they came to this compromise with a view to negotiating a longer extension sometime in the next year.

Allegedly

Good stuff from the club, must have made him a good offer to stop him testing himself on the open market at the end of the season.  Not sure what to make of all this MLS stuff because if he wanted too he could (a) negotiate with them and (b) leave for free at the end of the season?  He should be paid well, I'd love to see him in a really strong Phoenix side for his sake

Don't blame Roy for getting his head turned somewhat. Lets be frank; we're a terrible team at the moment and going nowhere fast. Krishna has carried us on his shoulders for quite a while now.

I hope his extension will help to motivate others around him, especially Burns.

At the very least the opposition don't have to just mark Burns now which should free him up to play more.

If he had actually done this it would have been the greatest thing in history.

IMO Kalu should now be plan B off the bench

Our best front three are Burns, Krishna and AK. I don't think it helps a strikers confidence being benched, but I'm hoping he will be boosted by having more motivated players around him. He can clearly score with his feet, as per his time at the Roar and highlights package, I back him to get back into form.

True and it would have given AK  a big boost IF he had scored it.
