I would like the club to be financial viable.

If selling on our best players to better leagues is not part of that mix, we are doing the whole club thing wrong.

My sources, and VERY close to the squad is that Krishna has not been happy for some time.. What I read into the conversation was he is turning into the person that Hernandez was around the squad. In other words a "me" attitude that has been slowly growing for some time and it is at it's initial stages of having a negative impact on the environment if his attitude is not pulled into line. I only need to look at his celebration Sunday to know that he clearly isn't happy. You don't break a club goal scoring record and react the way he did.. Personally, pace is all he has. Up against good strong defenders who direct him to his weaknesses he shows very little.. If he want's to leave and what is being said is to be true (and I very much trust this person), then good riddance and let's hope Rudan shops around for a better option going forward, which to be honest is what we have all been asking for

Whether your source is right or not it is absolute nonsense to say that pace is all he has. Maybe have a look at those 34 goals he's scored which are a mixture of, yes, pace plus skill, instinct, tenacity etc. He is a quality A League player who would fit into any other A League squad. The fact that the Nix have had a lame duck attack for some time is due to a lot of other well documented factors.

As for reports of, shock horror, him having a "me" attitude, name me one other club on the face of the planet that doesn't contain a player/s with an ego. Ego is synonymous with football and always has been.

The big difference with having a "me" attitude is that it shouldn't become an issue between you and your teammates. There is always a bigger picture and that is the team. Once you start brining that attitude into the day to day runnings of a professional team it will always bring about disharmony. Performance should be a big reason to justify an attitude to a point, but as I said as long as it doesn't negatively affect the team as a whole

You don't break a club goal scoring record and react the way he did..

That wasn't a 'me' celebration. Nor was it a depressed one. How do you want him to react? He wasn't going to be doing backflips or taking his shirt off in the first half, was he?

But the Fox Sports podcast made him sound he was unhappy not to move to the MSL where he rather be instead of stuck at the Nix's.

His working in really well with Burnsy shows a not "me" attitude to me, as does his chasing a long way back from up front to pressurise a marauding opponent.

don't mind all this contract bs playing out as long as it doesn't affect the teams performance. Last year it did, IMO, but there were so many other problems anyhow.

He's been a huge part of NZ football for a decade- first lighting up the national league and now the top scorer for our only professional team.

Standing ovation and well deserved.

I just listened to this. "I got one more season here" Then says he wants to the team to be competetive "before I leave this club".

Isn't he just reflecting that his contract is up at the end of the season?

I took it as implying that he currently has one more season. I'd like to think if we do well this season and show some promise he might extend again.

Curious as to where people place Roy in terms of the greatest Nix players of all time. Top 3 for me with Ifill and Dura. 41 goals and 23 assists in 108 games is superb (pretty sure he is our all time assist leader as well as scoring now too).

If you say he's not a Nix legend then you're lying. Ifill, Dura, Siggy, Daniel, Krishna is my top 5 in no particular order. I'd have him in the top three, same as you

Def top 3 - I'd say behind Ifill but in front Dura.

Hard to leave Siggy and to an extent Tim Brown and Daniel out.

He is a legend! Think how late he came into a pro environment, imagine he had better coaches when he was in his teens? He carries the Nix, even when we played some terrible football, he was always trying, now the rest of the team is playing well, he defends, scores and assists like a madman.

In terms of stats, he's right up there with the best; 9th in appearances, 9th in starts, 9th in minutes played, 1st in goals scored, 2nd= in assists, 1st in goals+assists, and 6th in goals per match (behind Dadi (10 matches), Smeltz (51), Vidosic (10), Brockie (58), and Kaluderovic (23)).

He's the top scorer for the Phoenix against Brisbane and Perth, equal top scorer against Newcastle, and after the last two games, became equal top scorer against Wanderers and Central Coast.

He's one of only three Phoenix players to have scored against all current opposition (others are Brockie and Huysegems) and one of 5 to have scored against 9 or more (Ifill and Brown scored against 10 clubs)

He's also one penalty away from becoming joint top penalty scorer with Ifill, and two away from equalling most penalties in a season.

Krishna recently equalled Ifill's appearances so here's a side by side comparison (the game against the Mariners is not included in the table):

Ifill

The counter-factual here is, what if the Nix had signed Roy back in 2008 when he was on trial. How good would he have been.

Yep, whenever I think of how good he's been it's frustrating to think that he could have been picked up by the club years earlier.

On the other hand, players develop at different rates and in different environments so it's impossible to tell what might have been.  I really doubt Ricki would have gotten anywhere near what other managers have gotten out of him and he may of stagnated being played too wide or as a bit-part player.  Just look at what happened to Totori, who has a similar skillset and had a similar NZFC record to Krishna before Ricki signed him.

If you're talking about those three I think Muscat should also be in the conversation.  Also, as much as Daniel was a fan favourite and did so much in the community, the likes of Smeltz, Riera and Burns contributed far more on the pitch.

Krishna should be on 39 goals in this table if you are only missing the CCM game as he is now on 41

Five times he has done it with 3 of them from this season.

2-1 win over Perth 14-Mar-15 (10th goal for Nix)

2-0 win over Jets 5-Nov-16 (20th goal for Nix)

3-1 win over Sydney 8-Dec-18

3-2 win over WSW 8-Jan-18 (40th goal for Nix)

3-2 win over CCM 12-Jan-18
