me olde china
I hear the 'FRIDGE' is out also. Roslyn refused to stock pies in the club rooms so he has refused to turn up. He tried to pull the team out but Burges has gone behind his back and will make sure the team turns up on Saturday.
This has really pulled the D-Tech team together, I'm picking that this game going into extra time.
Squiby, Rab and I are really looking forward to it

Dusty, I think you Roslyn lads need to remember you have won nothing for years. Its fine gloating saying you have beaten both Cavy /Tech in the league this season. But, your still 7 points behind Tech and equal with Cavy. The difference being is you might have the ability to beat these teams on your day. But 2 wins dosent make a championship winner. After beating Tech you then go and lose to Varsity. All the good work you had done you then blew it out your backsides.
It will be a good game tommorrow between you and Tech. However if i was Tech coach i would use these comments about Tech to remind the team of your arrogance. They have a lot of experience and players who have played in pressure situations before half of your team even started shaving.
Cavy will finish 2nd in the league. Mosgiel 3rd and you guys 4th. However when you get older you will be able to tell your kids that was the season you beat Cavy and Tech. However still finished 4th.
Tech 3-1
Cavy 4-0

No one except cavy has won anything in like 7 years I think haha. And I don't think any of the Roslyn players have been gloating on here. Big difference between celebrating wins and gloating. Maybe some supporters have been but ya can't blame the players for that!

Tech 2 Roslyn 1, its going to be a fizzer. Tech defence should hold them out have sharpened up of late. Myers will be good vs Cunningham in midfield...Smithy and Burgess should sort something out up front. Roslyn strikers not quick enough

your both guessing, on paper roslyn have a far better side than tech... again tech have really won f all... a si island championship and thats it in over a decade... been quite close between tech and roslyn over the years it will be a close game. Mike cunningham to take the piss out of the three named above, 3-1 to roslyn, excuse my ignorance but who is "god"???

Horsehead21. Think you will find that Tech have been very consistent over the last 10 years. Albeit second to Cavy as far as the league goes. Runner-up Chatham Cup. Yes,still SI champs. Dont forget the year Roslyn won the league SPI. Tech had transferrred at least 4-5 players to Roslyn. Scoullar,Duncan,Letts etc. This was due to the fact that Tech broke up its National League team. This was done to develop the young players in the Club. Mosgiel got the Dale boys. Northern got the P Kelly and Greville.
So its not as if Roslyn have developed their own players to win the league.
All im saying is that one good day dosent make a summer. Take the wins and be gracious. Win something at the end of the season and sprout off as much as you like.

I think if you ask the Tech players that went to Roslyn that season. The Winter league had already started (5 games) into the season. I think. The Club coach decided after a meeting with the National League players. That they would let the Senior players go to strengthen the other clubs. This was done to help lift the standard of the league.
It was also too allow the players whom had already started the league to have a chance to develop. Have a look at the Roslyn winning side Crespo2011-07-01 20:15:34

That is utter rubbish crespo, getting rid of national league players (many of who were early twentys) to develop youth? That is not believable
in 2002 when we finished the national league most of the squad did leave, myself & Scoullar went to Green Island, Craig Dale & Alex Chiet to Southland, Jon Smith, Andy Boyens, Jon Dale & Ritchie Smith left for University.

Horsehead 21 HaHa you know jack sh*t. You come down here play for 2-3 seasons and think you know it all. Get your facts right before you start Hee Hawwing on here. Ask Barry White why he left. Judda 16 told you what i was trying to tell you.
That was from the horses mouth. He was there.

and where were you numpty? True I wasnt there prior to 2004, i was just giving an opinion that I thought you were full of it. Sure Judda was there and I stand partially corrected by what he has said, but I doubt Tech released players with the aim of improving the leagure overall. That is just not believable by any stretch.

Otago United would never be able to afford Michael McGarry. After all he spent most of his career either in CHCH or Southland. Were he made his money.Oh he did play for Roslyn in the Superleague. Apparently $10,000 per season.
Lets get more MMcGarrys back and reward them for their time away.

Best 3 players at Roslyn should make it hard for Tech this weekend
