1-1 Northern vs GI yesterday

How did Green Island look otagofan?

They're trying to play a nice brand of football and they did that well. So were Northern tbh.
Weren't overly strong or threatening though.

MVP: Morgan Day

Players Player: Tom Batty

Golden Boot: Henrique (had to validate purchase somehow)

What a prizegiving! Took 20 mins :) and that's for senior and youth, no speeches by either coaches! What's going on?

no offence to Morgan, he wasn't even the best Mosgiel player in that team, Batty miles better than anyone in that side

No surprise that Big Lou didn't get up and say anything, had F.A. to say to the SU team during the season proper.
Fridge has to get the job just so the best players make themselves available for next ASB season.
No Fridge no batty no joy no :-).

Bookie can I have some odds for some cards in Tec V Uni game? T Mac will be at short odds surely

Permalink Permalink

T-Mac has too much hustle and speed to get picked up for fouls! Goals will be his focus tomorrow! Should be an interesting squad Luiz puts out...or is he even coaching? Heard he's barely been there each week..some players on the move because of this!

In some sort of reverse-parallel universe maybe...but not in RL. Tech 5-0 at a canter.

Went and watched the Mosgiel Northern game on saturday. Still can't decide if Mosgiel were that good or if Northern were hopeless. Couple nice goals from the young lads. Morgan looked like he didnt wanna be there. Judging by the difference in scores against Northern, I'd say Mosgiel will be firm favourites this week against GI. Bookie what you got? Reckon you'll bag a couple against the onions?

The punters have come thick and fast for Seamus Ryder to win the POTY gong, he opened and $7.50 and was into $4.50 within hours. Other favourites have been Jackson at $8.50, Rickerby at $9.00 and Day at $12.00. The other big market move has been Jesse Wright, he opened at a whopping $100.00, he's raced into $50.00.

Weather forecast looking horrendous for Saturday , could be a bit of a "leveler " in some games.

"Light rain or drizzle at times. Light winds." straight from the Metservice, sound like ideal conditions for footy. The drizzle should lead to a couple of decent challenges flying in during the Battle of the Saddle!

Really big game this week. Hopefully I can play with my sore foot, We can't afford to have Burg at centre back.

Forget this NatPevin shit! lets get more G.I talk going.

I'm picking a great season for us. Its about bout time a team showed that not just Tech or Cavvy can win the league.

this will be the table at the end of the season:

1. Green Island

2. Dunedin Tech

3. Roslyn

4. Caversham

5. University

6. Queenstown

7. Northern

8. Grants Braes

9. Old Boys'

10. Mosgiel

Nice try Green Onion

Permalink Permalink

Strong southwesterly change late Friday afternoon, bringing gale force winds , heavy rain and hail for Saturday . If that does happen I reckon the onions can snatch a point, also don't be surprised to see queenstown trouble the talked up maroon machine . Some quality signings for Hendy and his boys. Uni and Roslyn will be tight aswell , the only game I see being hugely one sided is cavvy northern, that could be double figures.

So I'm changing my picks after Jim hickeys change of tune -

Green island 1-1 Mosgiel

Tech 2-1 queenstown

Uni 2-2 Roslyn

Cavvy 9-0 northern
