Team Wellington is seeking to appoint a Head Coach to lead two successful campaigns in the 2016-17 season.

It is official, TW survives to fight on.

in defence regarding Manawatu. The board were weak. Stu wanted to move players out who were holding the game back..The board wouldn't support that. So was working in a very poisonous environment.

His record and reputation at the Mariners was extremely positive and look what he has achieved at Wellington Olympic inside 6 month. You a coach full time?

I think any coach who walks out on his players/management in the middle of a game gets into his car and leaves because he doesn't like the score line or whats happening on the field is not a coach that players will respect.(Especially at ASB level) Along with other antics, irrelevant with what is going on behind the scenes.a professional coach at all times is who players will respect.

and no I'm not from Manawatu, just observations.

rumour has its that the new coach will be from Auckland and is currently coaching a team in the northern premier league. Also the tw big wigs have been talking to some locals about playing or not going to other franchises just yet

Boyens?
No he said a coach....

Realistic options are Jose at Central, Sykes at 3KU, Hobbo at Birko, Emblen at Springs

Suburbs coach is tied to up as is Cossey at Wanderers. Can't see Jorgensen getting it nor Boyens, Donegan, don't know who is coaching Tauranga or Melville, ECB doesn't have a coach judging by how they play and Miyazawa seems content with Sports and Phoenix academy.

It's not a great list so Boyens may well be in with a shout. All it does though is swap in one head case that no one likes for a local that no one liked.

I'm pretty sure Hobbo is helping out at Wanderers - I can't verify that but I heard that third hand somewhere.

A few of his players have been selected in the first round of signings so seems to make sense.

It won't be Jose as he is the ACFC Youth coach.

It could be Embers possibly - Also I don't think Boyens is such a bad shout, he is coaching for NZF already I think and will have a decent little black book.

P.S. Tauranga is Duncan Lowry and Melville is Steve Williams.

Embers is obviously heavily involved with the U20's so that may rule him out!

Paul Marshall a possibility?

Very very late to this party. One of Calcott's problems was the end of season player review which I gather wasn't overly supporting of him.

There is some enthusiasm in TW circles to try to get Stu but that isn't universal so fas as I can gather. Kaizen does take up a bit of his time .

So you are saying he was booted? (Your Sauce)

Jose at Central seems quite transitory and mates with Temple who is now in Wgtn - so maybe him?

sure, but just so people are aware he seems up to a point reasonably committed to ACFC Youth.

He is an ambitious guy though so it wouldn't surprise me that he might be interested in the move

Also interesting if TW let him continue at CU in winter as the seasons would over lap somewhat especially as head coach of each

I can't see any players outside of what Declan has at Ole playing for TW Youth...and if there is the odd 1 or 2 that do pop up..Ole will encourage them to sign for Ole???

Ole was around last year and how many made the youth team. Looking at CL their are a lot of young players doing well for other clubs.

Didn't the Ole lads ignore/not try out for TW youth anyway? I don't think Deckers is a fan of it. I can see where he's coming from to be fair.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Think his conditions last year were to much.

what age is ole Youth for ASB?

Need to agree with Smithy. Declan didn't allow any of the Ole Players to play for either TW Prem or Youth teams last year. Interesting call by Becker, so I understand, to engage Ole to run the youth programme.

I'm sure DW will see an opportunity here to take over lock stock and barrel.

Rumour has it that Jose has been in touch with a number of local players about having a trial during preseason. May mean a nice change and some wellington players actually playing for Team Wellington.

Correct - the management, coaches and squad, most of who are not liked on here, took the ASB trophy out of Auckland for the 1st time in how long?
